Proverbs 3:5–6 ESV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Today I was just seeking Him to find the message He wanted me to preach…There are a lot of messages that we can preach or listen to but what do I need thats what I want to hear…
Sometimes we look at Proverbs as just a bunch of sayings to bring us wisdom but they are in scripture for a purpose to lead us to help us to depend on God.
No matter what we are walking in today I am here to tell you that you can trust God!
2 Chronicles 20:2–3 ESV
Some men came and told Jehoshaphat, “A great multitude is coming against you from Edom, from beyond the sea; and, behold, they are in Hazazon-tamar” (that is, Engedi). Then Jehoshaphat was afraid and set his face to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
2 Chronicles 20:5–13 ESV
And Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord, before the new court, and said, “O Lord, God of our fathers, are you not God in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. In your hand are power and might, so that none is able to withstand you. Did you not, our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel, and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham your friend? And they have lived in it and have built for you in it a sanctuary for your name, saying, ‘If disaster comes upon us, the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we will stand before this house and before you—for your name is in this house—and cry out to you in our affliction, and you will hear and save.’ And now behold, the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir, whom you would not let Israel invade when they came from the land of Egypt, and whom they avoided and did not destroy— behold, they reward us by coming to drive us out of your possession, which you have given us to inherit. O our God, will you not execute judgment on them? For we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” Meanwhile all Judah stood before the Lord, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.
Notice He declared:
In your hand are power and might, so that none is able to withstand you.
2. Did you not, our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land
3. If (Disaster comes on us)…We will stand before this house and before you- Your name is upon this house
4.This belongs to us because you gave it as an inheritance. (Thus Far)
5. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you!!! (The Next)
Gods answer to them…
2 Chronicles 20:15 ESV
And he said, “Listen, all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says the Lord to you, ‘Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not yours but God’s.
Church Today God wants you to know that you serve a God who is powerful enough to take care of whats been entrusted to you.
If… (This happens or that happens) You and I need to understand as Jehosophat did
We will stand before this house and before you because your name is upon your house
We may not know what to do but our eyes are upon you Lord and we will trust you!!!
Proverbs 30:24–28 ESV
Four things on earth are small, but they are exceedingly wise: the ants are a people not strong, yet they provide their food in the summer; the rock badgers are a people not mighty, yet they make their homes in the cliffs; the locusts have no king, yet all of them march in rank; the lizard you can take in your hands, yet it is in kings’ palaces.
These small creatures take full advantage of What God has given them and they live life trusting in who and what God is.
Size doesn't define Them.
Ants: Actively Preparing as God gave them ability
1 Peter 4:10 ESV
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:
Rock Badgers, Coneys, They dont have strength but they hide out in the rocks.
2 Samuel 22:2 ESV
He said, “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
Locusts: Have no leader yet they dont work on their own they work together but can devour a whole field quickly…
Psalm 133:1–3 ESV
Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes! It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the Lord has commanded the blessing, life forevermore.
Lizards: They get in even the most Prestigious castles of Kings…
When we do what we are created to do and trust our God even powerful kings and stone castles can’t stop us.
