THINGS YOU THOUGHT THE BIBLE SAID
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!
MISCONCEPTION:
“WELL, IF GOD DIDN’T WANT IT TO HAPPEN, IT WOULDN’T HAVE.”
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
JESUS’ DESIRE VS. ISRAEL’S DESIRE

Then the Spirit of God clothed Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, and he stood above the people, and said to them, “Thus says God, ‘Why do you break the commandments of the Lord, so that you cannot prosper? Because you have forsaken the Lord, he has forsaken you.’ ” But they conspired against him, and by command of the king they stoned him with stones in the court of the house of the Lord.
this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men.
Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?
When Israel was a child, I loved him,
and out of Egypt I called my son.

I led them with cords of kindness,

and I became to them as one who eases the yoke on their jaws,
and I bent down to them and fed them.
GOD’S WILL AND OUR WILL
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.
(GOD) who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him;
he has put him to grief;
when his soul makes an offering for guilt,
he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days;
the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
