Text: Hebrews 10:19-39

Thesis: To stress the importance of being faithful until the end.

Introduction:

(1)   After presenting what Jesus has done for everyone, the author of Hebrews encourages his readers to remain faithful to Jesus.

(2)   Let us note the “how” and “why.”

Discussion:

I.                   In order to remain faithful to Jesus, one must …

A.    Draw near (v. 22)

B.     Hold fast (v. 23)

C.     Consider one another (vv. 24-25)

II.                Otherwise …

A.    There no longer remains a sacrifice for sins (v. 26)

B.     Fearful expectation of judgment (v. 27)

III.             Therefore …

A.    Do not cast away your confidence (v. 35)

B.     Believe to the saving of the soul (v. 39)

Conclusion:

(1)   What will you choose? Jesus or Judgment?

(2)   Only by choosing Jesus can one say, like David, “Let us fall into the hand of the Lord, for his mercy is great” (2 Sam. 24:24).
