Strength in Waiting
Notes
Transcript
Telos: Waiting on the Lord is not a passive activity but an opportunity to grow in faith and anticipation of God's perfect timing and purpose in our lives.
Information
The church often creates theology around what didn’t happen instead of what did.
Waiting is an active posture of trusting God, leading to spiritual growth and a deeper relationship with Him.
Inspiration
28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
14 Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!
7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
25 The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him.
26 It is good that one should hope and wait quietly For the salvation of the Lord.
24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?
25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
7 Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.
8 You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

Anticipation (Shannon at Christmas)
Hope is the atmosphere that faith grows in.
Lie in wait on the Lord!
Lie in wait on the Lord!
Lying in wait is reducing my options and refining my focus
Lying in wait is reducing my options and refining my focus
Laying in wait is to discover where He wants to meet you.
1 Then God said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel and dwell there; and make an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you fled from the face of Esau your brother.”
7 And he built an altar there and called the place El Bethel, because there God appeared to him when he fled from the face of his brother.
10 And God said to him, “Your name is Jacob; your name shall not be called Jacob anymore, but Israel shall be your name.” So He called his name Israel.

11 Also God said to him: “I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall proceed from you, and kings shall come from your body.
12 The land which I gave Abraham and Isaac I give to you; and to your descendants after you I give this land.”
Saying, if God wants me to have it He will bring it to me. Is the ultimate arrogance
You position yourself in refined focus for a potential God moment.

Transformation
Patience
Independent Unyielding defiant perseverance
The intolerance of the enemies work to steal kill and destroy
Patience describes not just passive waiting, but a strong, active endurance and resolve to stay grounded and faithful despite trials, pressure, or opposition, rather than giving up or becoming annoyed. It's about steadfastly continuing to do what's right, even when things are tough, like a marathon runner pushing through the last miles.
3 Questions:
What is God saying to you?
What are you going to do about it?
How can I pray for you?
