Let the Light Shine!

Matthew 5:14–16 NKJV
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

A Light has Come

Into the Darkness (ignorance of God and His truth)
In darkness, people are blind to things around them.
In darkness, people imagine all kinds of things that are not real.
In darkness, people stumble over things they cannot see.
Through Jesus Christ
Isaiah 9:2 NKJV
The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined.
John 1:1–5 NKJV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shined in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
John 8:12 NKJV
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
To save those in darkness
John 3:17–21 NKJV
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
Jesus, the Light, came to save those who are lost in darkness
The light exposes and condemns those who love the darkness
The light reveals and liberates those who love the light.

We are to reflect the Light of Christ

Matthew 5:14 NKJV
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Isaiah 60:1–4 NKJV
Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising. “Lift up your eyes all around, and see: They all gather together, they come to you; Your sons shall come from afar, And your daughters shall be nursed at your side.
Our Light has come!
The glory of the LORD has risen upon us!
It is time to arise!
It is time to shine! (the Light of Jesus)
John 12:32 NKJV
And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.”
It is time to lift our eyes to see the harvest!
It is time to welcome those drawn to the Light of Jesus!
