Battle Lines

2 Corinthians 10:1–7 NASB95
1 Now I, Paul, myself urge you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ—I who am meek when face to face with you, but bold toward you when absent! 2 I ask that when I am present I need not be bold with the confidence with which I propose to be courageous against some, who regard us as if we walked according to the flesh. 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, 4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. 5 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, 6 and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete. 7 You are looking at things as they are outwardly. If anyone is confident in himself that he is Christ’s, let him consider this again within himself, that just as he is Christ’s, so also are we.
Donnie Wise was talking yesteray about reseting reclaiming!
We were talking Wednesday night about the original sin and fall in the garden and In real time I said something that I’ve never heard before and something that I honestly never even thought of before, so I am attributing it to the Holy Spirit working through the reading of His Word.
I’ll get to it in a minute.
Notice here that the battle that we are talking about is primarily in the mind, there is something that we don’t talk about all that much but we need to be certain about what this war looks like and where it’s fought.
Primarily in the mind because the things that are spiritual are discerned in the spirit and applied by the mind.
The battle field is the heart!
that’s why the fruit of the Spirit include a Sound MIND!
Today you might be going through something but you are not defeated!, Let me say that for the one that wasn’t listening, YOU That are in Christ AIN’T DEFEATED!
WE HAVE GOT TO REMEMBER THAT JESUS HAS WON!
The reason that the mind or the heart is the battle field is because that’s the only place where decisions are made, God has given us a choice, everything that He created can only do what He commands, but He has allowed man to disobey.
A man tries to explain the sovereignty of God by saying that He’s playing both sides of the chess set, where I see it more like God is playing chess at a level so high that He can’t be beat

The Enemy

John 10:10 NASB95
10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
1 Peter 5:8 NASB95
8 Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
I’m reminded of the battle that Gabriel describes to Daniel
(explain the stoty)
There is an enemy of you soul, he is defeated but if he can convince you that he’s not you’ll get beat by him.
I can’t warn you enough, don’t believe in man, don’t believe in me, don’t believe th enemy, believe the LORD
Explain the thing from Gen about the serpent eating dust

Man

to be short Adam represents us all and He failed, Eve is credited with being deceived but Adam caused sin by disobeying and denying his dominion.
Let me explain, Adam was told to subdue the earth he was told to multiply and fill the earth he was told to rule, and he allowed the enemy to attack his family, the weakest of us and then he did the one thing that God asked him not to do.
1 Timothy 2:14 NASB95
14 And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.
Romans 5:12 NASB95
12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned—

Jesus

Jesus takes up where we failed! He makes it for us
Jesus protects the family where Adam let it fall, now for what I talked about earlier, Jesus asks everyone about their part in the fall, but the serpent, He didn’t allow him to speak, to do that is to encourage him to lie, and is to give yourself a chance to fall victim to him.
James 4:7 NASB95
7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Jesus gives us the victory indeed, and even beyond salvation shows us how to live in the victory even now, don’t give the enemy a chance.
Brother Donnie said that most of the infidelity of pastors followed powerful sermons or moments in ministry, and it was because the word wasn’t enough for them, don’t believe the lie, Jesus is enough.
