The 7 One’s #7:

One God

Thesis: To study God’s nature and His work in order to better understand Him and to

              motivate us to serve Him faithfully.

Introduction:

(1)   There is a God.  He is real and in control.

(2)   Let us learn more about God, His nature and His work.

Discussion:

I.                   Who is God?

A.    His nature:

1.      Eternality (Deut. 33:27; Isa. 40:28; 57:15; Psa. 90:2; 102:12, 25-27;      Jer. 10:10)

2.      Immutability (Mal. 3:6; James 1:17)

3.      Absolute Truth (Num. 23:19; 1 Sam. 15:29; Heb. 6:17-18)

4.      Absolute Love (John 3:16; Rom. 5:6-8)

5.      Holiness (Exod. 15:11; Lev. 11:44; Psa. 99:9; Luke 1:49; John 17:11)

6.      Perfect Justice (Deut. 32:4; Isa. 30:18, 45:21; 1 Pet. 1:17; Rev. 19:2)

7.      All-Powerful/Omnipotent (Job 42:2; Jer. 32:17; Matt. 19:26)

8.      All-Present/Omnipresent (Psa. 139:7-10; Jer. 23:23-24)

9.       All-Knowing/Omniscient (Psa. 139:1-6; 147:4; Ezek. 11:5; Isa. 46:10)

B.     He is “Father of all.”

C.     He is “over all and through all and in all.”

II.                What does God do?

A.    Obviously, He created all things (Gen. 1:1).

B.     Further, He was active during the Old Testament times leading Israel.

C.     Furthermore, He sent His Son to provide salvation (John 3:16).

D.    What about today?

1.      He is still on His throne (cf. Rev. 4).

2.      He is answering prayers.

3.      He is preparing us a Home (cf. John 14:1-3).

III.             What should we do?

-          Ecc. 12:13 – Fear God & keep His commandments

Conclusion:

-          Have you crowned God as King of your life?
