With Jesus, We Have More Than Enough
With Jesus, We Have More Than Enough
Text: John 6.1-14
Thesis: To note the blessings that we have “in Christ” in order to encourage us to be in
and remain in Him.
Introduction:
(1) Jesus feeds the 5000 with 2 fish and 5 barley loaves and has 12 baskets of leftovers.
(2) Jesus still blesses us to the point that our cup runs over (cf. Psa. 23.5).
Discussion:
I. What blessings are available?
A. Physical:
Necessities of life (cf. Matt. 6.25-34)
B. Psychological:
1. Peace that surpasses all comprehension (Phil. 4.7)
2. A living hope (1 Pet. 1.3) as opposed to others who have no hope
(1 Thess. 4.13)
3. Love of God (Rom. 8.31-39)
C. Spiritual:
1. Salvation (John 3.16)
2. Forgiveness (1 John 1.9)
3. Prayer (1 Pet. 3.12)
4. Heaven to come (Rev. 21)
II. How do we acquire these blessings?
A. We get all blessings by being in Christ (Eph. 1.3).
B. How do we get in Christ?
1. We are baptized into Christ (Gal. 3.27; Rom. 6.3-5).
2. We stay in Him by continually walking in the light (1 John 1.7).
Conclusion:
(1) Truly, in Christ we have “more than enough”
(2) Are you in Him?
