How did we do this past year on a scale from 0-10 (10 being the best)?
The best part of being a member of Cornerstone:
What is something we could do better?
What is something we are NOT doing that you would like for us to do because it is important to you and you would support it ?

STATE OF THE CHURCH 2026—DETAILS:
Thank You for “Bringing your tithes to the storehouse” according Malachi 3:10. What a blessing you have been to #BRINGINGHOPE to find and follow Jesus!
MINISTRY in 2025
As in team sports often there is a year that is referred to as a “Building Year” – well, that is Cornerstone.
JESUS SACKS
We moved into the Summer with an outreach to take sacks of snacks into the neighborhood and ended up serving approx.
120 children every week with a sack of snacks and a moment of prayer with their parents, grandparents or guardian. It was an exciting time.
Of course, not everyone got to participate in making it happen. I hope moving forward there will be more who will be able to participate and take the Love of God to our Creek Forest Family.
Since Summertime, we have had monthly events at the Creek Forest Apartments (south of the hospital).
We provided hotdogs and activities for the Summer-End event.
The Harvest Party was held at the apartments,
followed with S’mores in November,
Chicken Dinner in December, and
ended the year with toys that we were blessed with from another church.
Yes! We want to keep going back.
Thank You for your help this past year—we couldn’t have done it without you.
Since COVID our Attendance has been below 30
we are excited as in the closing months of 2025 we have three new families that have started coming (two from the apartments) and
another family who has returned to Cornerstone.
We continue to LIVE Stream on Facebook on Sunday.
We remain committed to Wednesday MidWeek class moving forward as a Life Group that is family friendly.
Three found Hope to Find and Follow Jesus. What joy it is to be a part of that!
Bike Blessing was new — and so much fun to connect with bikers in our community.
Summer Camp was fun too as we had 6 adults, 2 youth and 3 children attend.
There is always more to say, but one of the most important pieces is that without You…it wouldn’t have happen. YOU made the DIFFERENCE!
We are truly part of something bigger than ourselves as we look to Father for meeting all of our needs in Jesus Name.
Prayerfully stay connected as we anticipate 2026 to be a year to put down roots as each of us find our part here at CORNERSTONE.
Remember, “Jesus is our Reason.”

Spiritual discipline and trust
Spiritual discipline and trust
Many believers view giving as an act of faith and stewardship:
It cultivates generosity rather than attachment to wealth
It expresses trust that God will provide
It aligns personal priorities with spiritual values
Biblical foundation
Biblical foundation
In Christianity, tithing (traditionally 10%) and offerings are rooted in Scripture:
Malachi 3:10 speaks of bringing the tithe into the storehouse.
Proverbs 3:9 encourages honoring God with one’s resources.
2 Corinthians 9:7 emphasizes giving willingly, not under compulsion.
7 I want each of you to take plenty of time to think it over, and make up your own mind what you will give. That will protect you against sob stories and arm-twisting. God loves it when the giver delights in the giving.
The principle is that giving acknowledges God as the source of provision.

There is a Famine in the land—not of Food but of hearing God’s Word. (Amos 8.11-12
“The time is surely coming,” says the Sovereign Lord,
“when I will send a famine on the land—
not a famine of bread or water
but of hearing the words of the Lord.
People will stagger from sea to sea
and wander from border to border*
searching for the word of the Lord,
but they will not find it.
THE BIBLE MAKES ITS OWN CLAIMS ABOUT SUFFICIENCY
Berding, Kenneth. 2013. Bible Revival: Recommitting Ourselves to One Book. Bellingham, WA: Lexham Press.
Sufficiency is the condition or quality of being adequate or sufficient
Some say, like Pardington, God’s Word is “An infallible rule and principle to live by.” but…NO! Scratch out “An”
Gods word is THE infallible rule and principle to live by.
David, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, wrote the following about the sufficiency and value of the Bible:
THE PROMISES OF GOD
The instructions of the Lord are perfect,
reviving the soul.
The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple.
The commandments of the Lord are right,
bringing joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are clear,
giving insight for living.
Reverence for the Lord is pure,
lasting forever.
The laws of the Lord are true;
each one is fair.
They are more desirable than gold,
even the finest gold.
They are sweeter than honey,
even honey dripping from the comb.
The Bible, according to David, is
perfect,
sure,
right,
pure,
clean,
enduring,
true, and
righteous.
It is sufficient for
reviving the soul,
giving wisdom, and
bringing joy.
We should value it more than we do gold or chocolate—that is, honey, which was the chocolate of the ancient world.

Paul believed also…
16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.
God’s Promises are not like Mom’s pretty little towels that she put out for company to look at and say— those are so precious..
God’s Promises are not like Grandma’s china we have never used, but sits in plain view on the hutch/curio cabinet
God’s Promises are to be USED!
Meaning M & E from 1-15-26
Meaning M & E from 1-15-26
GOD’S WORD IS—
“The word of promise” → God’s promises —The Scripture.
“Draw … out of its scabbard” → (Scabbard- a leather sheath for a blade or sword)
Don’t leave those promises unused,
Draw them out NOT merely admired; take them up deliberately.
“Use it with holy violence” → Apply the promises boldly, forcefully, and persistently—not with literal violence, but with intense spiritual determination.
Don’t think that God will be troubled by your persistent crying out, reminding Him of his promises.
He loves to hear the loud outcries of needy souls. It is his delight to bestow favours.
He is more ready to hear than you are to ask.
Remember Mary in Luke 1.38
Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” And then the angel left her.
It is God’s nature to keep his promises; therefore we should go at once to the throne with “Do it Father as you have said.”
Spurgeon, C. H. 1896. Morning and Evening: Daily Readings. London: Passmore & Alabaster.
DON’T BREATHE THE ATMOSPHERE
DON’T Drink the Kool-Aid!
In our culture today there is a general distrust of authoritative texts?
Have you ever heard the following comment?
“Well, maybe the passage means that to you, but it doesn’t mean the same thing to me.”
Anyone who makes such a comment is inhaling the same air of distrust.
Or maybe…
“There are so many different interpretations, how can we know which is correct?”
That person is also breathing the same air.
What kind of air are you breathing?
If you find that you are passive toward the Bible, that you don’t value it the way you know Christians should, you may be inhaling the hazy air of a generation that is skeptical toward the possibility of God speaking authoritatively through a written text.
God’s Word has everything we need for life and Godliness
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.
Understanding God’s Word has some twists and discernment is crucial but it has all we need and more
Here are some questions we can answer and know for sure
Is it necessary for life and godliness to know that Jesus rose from the dead? Yes. This central doctrine of the Christian faith is abundantly clear in the Bible. 1 Cor. 15:1–20
Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters,* of the Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then, and you still stand firm in it. 2 It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you—unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place.*
3 I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. 4 He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said. 5 He was seen by Peter* and then by the Twelve. 6 After that, he was seen by more than 500 of his followers* at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died. 7 Then he was seen by James and later by all the apostles. 8 Last of all, as though I had been born at the wrong time, I also saw him. 9 For I am the least of all the apostles. In fact, I’m not even worthy to be called an apostle after the way I persecuted God’s church.
10 But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on me—and not without results. For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace. 11 So it makes no difference whether I preach or they preach, for we all preach the same message you have already believed.
12 But tell me this—since we preach that Christ rose from the dead, why are some of you saying there will be no resurrection of the dead? 13 For if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised either. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your faith is useless. 15 And we apostles would all be lying about God—for we have said that God raised Christ from the grave. But that can’t be true if there is no resurrection of the dead. 16 And if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless and you are still guilty of your sins. 18 In that case, all who have died believing in Christ are lost! 19 And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world.
20 But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died.
2. Is it necessary for life and godliness to know that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone? Yes. This central teaching is clear in the Bible (see, for example, Eph. 2:8–9
8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
3. Is it necessary for life and godliness to know that sin can be overcome by the power of the Holy Spirit? Yes. You cannot live a consistent Christian life without knowing that you need the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome sin (see, for example, Rom. 8:1–27
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. 2 And because you belong to him, the power* of the life-giving Spirit has freed you* from the power of sin that leads to death. 3 The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature.* So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. 4 He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.
5 Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. 6 So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. 7 For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. 8 That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.
9 But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.) 10 And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life* because you have been made right with God. 11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.
12 Therefore, dear brothers and sisters,* you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. 13 For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature,* you will live. 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children* of God.
15 So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children.* Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”* 16 For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. 17 And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.
18 Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. 19 For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. 20 Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, 21 the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. 22 For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children,* including the new bodies he has promised us. 24 We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope* for it. 25 But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.)
26 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. 27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers* in harmony with God’s own will.
Dear Lord,
I confess that I am not as confident in the sufficiency and clarity of your Word as I know I need to be. I have breathed in the air of this age. I have been self-sufficient instead of dependent upon your Word. Gracious Father, I ask you through your Holy Spirit to breathe fresh breath into me, that I might grow to love your Word more, see it more clearly, and treasure it more dearly in my heart and in my actions.
In the name of Jesus your Son,
Amen
