A Virtuous Woman Warns Her Children

She warned him against immoral relationship

She warned him against alcohol consumption

One can argue the validity of whether a Christian should drink, if they are just not supposed to get drunk, if it is for special occasions, or if it is simply not to be consumed excessively.
When we look at alcohol consumption I admit that there are those that drink socially that do not get drunk, never commit other sins as a result of it, do not become alcoholics, and do not make poor decisions because of their own impairment from it.
Another thing we can understand from the facts are this: alcohol causes great pain for many people each year. It causes deaths from car accidents, it causes domestic violence, it causes murder and other criminal behavior, it causes children to go to bed hungry, it causes neglect of children by their parents, it causes alcoholism which is very difficult to overcome AND it negatively effects the lives of millions each year.
Many people think that the effects of alcohol will not involve their family. Unfortunately, that thinking is naive. Just because it did not effect you does not mean it will not ruin your children’s lives. Alcohol, statistically, does not promote holiness and godliness in the lives of people; it more times than not, ruins them.
You are in control of whether alcohol is a part of your life. You are not in control of how it will effect your life or your family. You are not in control if it leads you or someone you love to sin. You are not in control if it leads your family into tragedy. You are not in control if it cause alcoholism and abuse to effect you or your family. Alcohol consumption is a choice, but it is a poor choice that leaves your life and your family under the control of a mind altering drug; its effects are also beyond your control.

A Virtuous Woman Has Great Value

She is a faithful spouse

Proverbs 31:11–12 “The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, So that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil All the days of her life.”

She is wise in her Pursuits

Proverbs 31:13–19 “She seeketh wool, and flax, And worketh willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants’ ships; She bringeth her food from afar. She riseth also while it is yet night, And giveth meat to her household, And a portion to her maidens. She considereth a field, and buyeth it: With the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. She girdeth her loins with strength, And strengtheneth her arms. She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: Her candle goeth not out by night. She layeth her hands to the spindle, And her hands hold the distaff.”

A Virtuous Woman Has Compassion

She helps the Poor

Proverbs 31:20 “She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; Yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.”

She cares for her family

Proverbs 31:21–22 “She is not afraid of the snow for her household: For all her household are clothed with scarlet. She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; Her clothing is silk and purple.”

She uses her talents for her family

Proverbs 31:24–25 “She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; And delivereth girdles unto the merchant. Strength and honour are her clothing; And she shall rejoice in time to come.”

A Virtuous Woman Lives Wisely

She speaks wisely

Proverbs 31:26 “She openeth her mouth with wisdom; And in her tongue is the law of kindness.”

She loves wisely

Proverbs 31:28–29 “Her children arise up, and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, But thou excellest them all.”
