Human Life is a Sacred Blessing of God

Introduction

In our culture today more and more are being persuaded that the world is over populated and that humanity is the source of worlds problems. If we could somehow reduce humanity the world would be a better place. What a scaryt philosophy. Mass genocide of unwanted peoples can be advocated as holy and good, all in the name of saving the planet. Therefore we have many people who believe taking the life of their unborn child is a reproductive right and actually good.

Massachusetts citizens for life reports “Abortion was the leading cause of death worldwide in 2025, with an estimated 73 million unborn babies killed, far surpassing any other reported cause.” https://www.masscitizensforlife.org/global_leading_cause_of_death_continues_to_be_abortion_in_2025

When Proposition 3 passed in Michigan in 2022 abortion became a constitutional amendment in our state. Saying that a woman has the right to take the life of her unborn child for any reason.

Logically another disastrous follow-up to this proposal was May 13, 2025 when a Michigan Court of Claims struck down three restrictions related to abortion in Michigan. The restrictions struck down were:

Restriction #1: a 24 hour mandatory waiting period before having an abortion;

This allows forceful and high pressure abortionists to talk young girls who don’t know what to do to be pushed into abortions that they will regret for a lifetime thinking this is there only viable choice.

Restriction #2: mandatory uniform informed consent for patients seeking an abortion, and

Mandatory uniform consent refers to various legal and ethical requirements for obtaining agreement from individuals in specific contexts. In healthcare, informed consent is mandatory for all clinical trials involving human beings. This process requires a healthcare professional to educate a patient about the risks, benefits, and alternatives of a given procedure or intervention, respecting the patient's decision-making ability. This principle is rooted in ethical practices and legal standards surrounding patient autonomy, with some regulations also requiring documentation to confirm comprehension.

This is practiced with surgeries, but not with abortion which has potentially dangerous side effects.

A physician assistant or RN can perform an abortions.

Then there is the issue of chemical abortions. Mifepristone abortion drug says on 0.5% of those who take their drug have dangerous side effects. Ethics and Public Policy Center conducted their own research versus Danco. Danco’s sample size was near 31K participants. EPPC sample size was nearly 866K, about 28 times the size of Danco. The latter found that life threatening complications was not 0.5%, but actually 10.93%. You can read about it in their article published in April 28, 2025 “The Abortion Pill Harms Women: Insurance Data Reveals One in Ten Patients Experiences a Serious Adverse Event.”

Public opinion is also in favor of abortion with nearly 60% favoring and 40% not in favor of it. May I remind that majority does not dictate morality, God does. Exodus 23:2 “2 Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment:”

Isaiah 33:22 “22 For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, The Lord is our king; he will save us.”

Psalm 24:1 “1 The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; The world, and they that dwell therein.”

Malachi 3:6 “6 For I am the Lord, I change not; Therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”

Understanding, we can come to God’s Word knowing that God has not changed his mind. Psalm 33:11 “11 The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, The thoughts of his heart to all generations.” As our Creator he dictates what is right and wrong.

Genesis 9:1–7 “1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. 2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. 3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. 4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat. 5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life of man. 6 Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. 7 And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.”

P. Since human life is a sacred blessing we ought to value all human life.

T. How do we uphold the sanctity of human life in a society that doesn’t value life. We personally follow God’s example of valuing life. And continually uphold the value of human life and strive to enact laws that protect life and educate society on how much God values life. In Genesis 9:1-7, we will see four ways God shows his great value of human life.

1. God’s blessing of human life is seen through His encourage pro-creation of human life. Genesis 9:1, 7

Genesis 9:1 “1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.”

Genesis 9:7 “7 And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.”

Explain

Context: God had destroyed the whole earth and saved only Noah and his family alive with the animals with them on the ark. Why had he destroyed the earth?

Before the Flood:

Genesis 6:5 “5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”

Genesis 6:7 And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

There was no human form of government and violence filled the earth as there was not any checks and balances to stop the bad guys.

Now after the flood God wants to make sure this does not get like this again and blesses Noah and his family, so that they may repopulate the earth.

Be fruitful 2x - reproduce

Psalm 127:3 “3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: And the fruit of the womb is his reward.”

Multiply 3x - become numerous

Replenish 1x - make it full

Bring forth abundantly 1x - swarm the earth

The commands to be fruitful have never been changed.

Notice verse 7. It is emphatic in the Hebrew.

God wants a thriving planet on earth, not Mars or the moon. God created planet earth for humanity.

Spiritually God sent Christ to redeem us from eternal damnation through the death of his Son and desires many children.

I’m glad God didn’t stop with 12 apostles.

Hebrews 2:10 “10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.”

John 1:12 “12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”

Are you a child of God. He made it possible for you to be forgiving through the atoning blood of his Son Jesus Christ. (1 John 2:2)

Argue

One ancient flood tradition taught that God had to destroy the earth because it was overpopulated. The Bible teaches it was because man was wicked. Genesis 6:5–7 “5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. 7 And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.”

But every ancient civilization has a flood legend of a great deluge.

Many of the death cult of LGBTQ+ won’t have children, but they are seeking to destroy your children’s innocence and brainwash your kids with their ideas. Guard who is teaching your children. You’re responsible for your child before God.

T. God not only commanded us to reproduce, he put a fear of us in the animal kingdom.

2. God’s blessing of human life is seen through His putting fear of human life in His creatures. Genesis 9:2

Genesis 9:2 “2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.”

Explain

Prior to the flood there was not a fear and dread of man on the animals.

Fear - an awe or feeling of terror, alarm, or anxiety.

Dread - terror, fear, alarm, confounding, broken

Now there is amongst animals a general avoidance of man. While some animals have been domesticated. There is a general fear of man, as God has given us dominion over animals.

Genesis 1:28 “28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”

God is making it plain that man is still to have dominion over creation. He is to be a good manager of it.

Wild animals would have not avoided confrontation with us, but may have actually sought it. I

Genesis 7:9 “9 There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.”

Argue

Imagine if wolverines, wolves, bucks, bulls, pike, raccoons, and bears had no fear of humans and sought them as food. We would be in trouble. Praise God for the fear and dread he has put in animals of humans.

TV Series alone - Hey bear, hey bear, as three bears were sniffing around his tent. Thankfully he survived the night because of the fear of man and the bear fortunately was not really hungry.

3. God’s blessing of human life is seen through His provision of new sources of food for humanity. Genesis 9:3-4

Genesis 9:3–4 “3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. 4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.”

Explain

We find that before the global flood, man and animals only ate plants: grains, fruits, herbs, and vegetables.

Genesis 1:29–30 “29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.”

Genesis 3:17–19 “17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; 18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; 19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”

After the flood God expanded man’s diet to include every living creature of birds, animals, and creeping things.

Genesis 9:3–4 “3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. 4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.”

As God gave Adam one prohibition, so he gave Noah and his family one prohibition. Genesis 9:4 “4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.”

The blood is the life of a living creature. God gives that life and forbids for us to eat the blood.

The death cults and idolatrous worship practices of the ancient East disregarded God’s prohibition as blood and drinking it became an integral part of their idolatrous worshp. They believed that by partaking increased life would be given to them.

Some argue it is cruel and unusual to kill an animal for food. Yet, God’s Word tells us that mankind has been given creeping things, birds, and animals for food.

The giving of other life for the food of mankind does not mean we should treat animal life poorly.

Proverbs 12:10 “10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: But the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.”

You ought to treat your pets and your farm animals with respect. A good farmer knows that a happy animal also produces more and is healthier.

We as Christians can eat meat. 1 Timothy 4:3 “3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.”

The word meats refers to any kind of meat or flesh of creation God has given man dominion over.

God made sure we could survive by supplying us with extra sources of food. Vegans are not biblical.

T. God not only encouraged reproduction, put the fear of man in the animal kingdom, and expanded what we could eat, he instituted human government to exercise the death penalty on those who kill human life.

4.God’s blessing of human life is seen through His protection of human life by instituting the death penalty on murderers by civil government. Genesis 9:5-6

Genesis 9:5–6 “5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life of man. 6 Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.”

Explain

Before the flood there was no human government and because of that the earth was filled with violence.

The Lord is instituting human government.

If you shed blood, your blood will be shed by man. The word is man with the definite article referencing a governing body to insure justice and safeguard life.

The primary reason for the establishment of civil government is the protection of life.

Coupled with this new responsibility to mankind is the promise that God ultimately willy hold murderers responsible for killing human life.

The government is given the responsibility to kill those who kill innocent human life. Romans 13:4 “4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.”

Government is to protect human life and put to death murderers of innocent human life.

What constitutes human life?

Some want to define it as self-consciousness of existence, when the baby is outside the womb, so many weeks into pregnancy.

Human life has been scientifically proven to begin at conception.

Human life as Dr. Sues said is this, “A person is a person no matter how big or small.”

Human life is more valuable than animal life because every human being is made in the image of God.

He has creative powers, morality, reasoning, most importantly God’s image

Problem with evolutionary worldview has taught multiple generations in our public schools, and institutions of higher education that the world would be better off if the human population died off and are convinced much of the human race needs purged from the earth and are thus ethically in favor of mass genocide if they are completely honest.

This lie of overpopulation and that humanity is the problem is held by high-schoolers even in Farwell.

What does the Scripture say about unborn life?

Genesis 25:22–23

“22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of the Lord. 23 And the Lord said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, And two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; And the one people shall be stronger than the other people; And the elder shall serve the younger.”

God calls Esau and Jacob persons before birth

Exodus 21:21–25

21 Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money. 22 If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. 23 And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, 24 Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.”

Gives the death penalty it a pregnant women or her unborn baby is killed through reckless behavior and most certainly purposeful.

Psalm 51:5

“5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; And in sin did my mother conceive me.”

David considered himself a human being before he was born and ascribed a sinful nature to himself before his birth

Psalm 139:13–16

“13 For thou hast possessed my reins: Thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Marvellous are thy works; And that my soul knoweth right well. 15 My substance was not hid from thee, When I was made in secret, And curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; And in thy book all my members were written, Which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.”

Human life inside a mother’s womb is considered human when not completely developed.

Luke 1:35

“35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.”

Jesus was considered the Son of God at conception within Mary.

A single cell human zygote is a single whole human being.

John the Baptist could respond with emotion before birth.

Thus, when God says if you shed human blood, it includes innocent human life.

Nazi Germany in World War 2 believed their race the Arian race was far superior to any other human race. They had a photo competition of the prettiest Arian baby. The ignorant anti-semite man humurously and ignorantly chose a Jewish baby to represent the best of the Arian race.

We need to strive to have laws in our society that gives equal protections to life as we have.

Conclusion

God sought to preserve not only physical life of humanity, but give eternal life. He did this through sending Christ. Have you received the life he wants you to have? Deuteronomy 30:19 “19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:”

John 14:6 “6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Support legislation that promotes the protection of human life.

Vote for pro-life politicians.

Vocally stand for the rights of the unborn and elderly. Life is a gift of God.

Witness and disciple others in the teachings of Jesus Christ, so that they may be saved and teach others to love life.

In the denial of the permanent authority and sanctity of the moral law there is a direct thrust at the very centre of our holy faith, for it is a thrust at the veracity and authority of our Lord himself.
