Intro:
Do not want to sound like a repeat of Ps At’s messages we have heard over this past week! But there are some things we need to cement - vaslegging - in our hearts as we continue in this year - We want to see REVIVAL in our cities, but it starts with US - the Church first!
Key Verse for this week!
Isaiah 64:1–9 (NKJV)
1 Oh, that You would rend the heavens! That You would come down! That the mountains might shake at Your presence— 2 As fire burns brushwood, As fire causes water to boil— To make Your name known to Your adversaries, That the nations may tremble at Your presence! 3 When You did awesome things for which we did not look, You came down, The mountains shook at Your presence. 4 For since the beginning of the world Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, Nor has the eye seen any God besides You, Who acts for the one who waits for Him.
Oh, how we are seek for an INVASION of the Holy Spirit on our Church, on our Cities our nation, our world.
That God would RIP open the heavens and come down and INVADE our services - not just a VISITATION - a goosebump moment, but an INVASION of His presence - that will make every mountain (government) shake, a fire that will burn up everything that is not of Him.
A move of God that every unbeliever will recognize that He has come down to visit His people!!! - Not a manufactured REVIVAL...
5 You meet him who rejoices and does righteousness, Who remembers You in Your ways. You are indeed angry, for we have sinned— In these ways we continue; And we need to be saved. 6 But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.
7 And there is no one who calls on Your name, Who stirs himself up to take hold of You; For You have hidden Your face from us, And have consumed us because of our iniquities. 8 But now, O Lord, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand. 9 Do not be furious, O Lord, Nor remember iniquity forever; Indeed, please look—we all are Your people!
We want to see the Heavens Ripped open, it starts with US. As we STIR our HEARTS and TAKE HOLD of Him…
As we surrender and allow Him to mould us as a Potter that fashions us for His purpose!
Joel 2:12–13 (NKJV)
12 “Now, therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.”
Starts with us REPENTING - means to turn back to God - To TURN away from the wrong things and turn to GOD with ALL your heart.
God does not just want a bit of you - He wants the whole house of your heart, not just one of the chambers/rooms!
13 So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm.
Before God Rends the Heavens - We need to Rend our Hearts before Him - TO REND to rip open our hearts so that the KING can come in!
To SURRENDER ourselves to Him - to VACATE the throne of our hearts and allow Him to come and take His rightful place!
To allow Him to come do a work in us first! - This beginning of this year is not about our SHOPPING LIST of things the Lord MUST do for us - but us coming to Him first and positioning ourselves rending our hearts before Him, so that He would REND the heavens and come down and INVADE our lives INVADE our cities!!!
Positioning ourselves UNDER His MIGHTY HAND
1 Peter 5:6 (NKJV)
6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,
James 4:10 (NKJV)
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
HUMBLING ourselves - NOT HUMILIATING ourselves!!!
God is not in the HUMILIATION practice, but He is a lifter and encourager!!!
Humbling ourselves under HIS MIGHTY powerful hand, that will lift you, protect you, guide you!!!
Rending our hearts, not our garments!
Humility is not about an outward appearance , but inward SURRENDER
“Not about thinking less of yourself, but think of yourself less.”
A posture of bowing low in our hearts before God - Acknowledging HIM as God over our lives -
Casting ourselves on Him - so we can break before Him!
Luke 20:17–18 (NKJV)
17 Then He looked at them and said, “What then is this that is written: ‘The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone’? 18 Whoever falls on that stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.”
We become fragile before Him - to break before Him!!!
Dying to ourselves -
John 12:24 (NKJV)
24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.
We need to die daily!!!
DECLARATION OF OUR DEPENDANCE ON HIM
2 Chronicles 7:14–16 (NKJV)
14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 15 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. 16 For now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually.
Jeremiah 29:11–13 (NKJV)
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
