Ecclesiastes 4:9–12 KJV 1900
9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. 10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. 11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? 12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
1 Corinthians 3:6–9 KJV 1900
6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. 8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. 9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
Philippians 1:27 KJV 1900

Title: Teams and teamwork
When we all pull together, how happy we will be!
We have been talking about unity and building a lot.
God has dealt with me very strongly about this for 2026!
Build - Build his kingdom
If you was to ask, what does that look like?
WE ARE GOING TO BUILD A COHESIVE, UNIFIED LOVING TEAM!
One draft horse can pull 8,000 pounds (4 tons), a team of 2 can pull 24,000 pounds (12 tons)!
Why?
Synchronized effort
Load resistance is reduced due to shared momentum
Each horse has the other for stability
Energy loss is minimized when woking together
Biblically:
Strength is multiplied - Ecc 4.9-12
Burden is distributed - Gal 6.2
Protection against failure - Prov 11.14
Accelerates vision - Amos 3.3
Reflects God’s design - 1 Cor 12
The power of TOGETHER exponentially increases EVERYTHING!
Did you know?
Army units marching over bridges have to break stride because if they stay in sync it can literally collapse the bridge!
Teamwork makes the dream work! - John C. Maxwell
The last couple weeks I have talked a lot about some things that we need to fix in the church…
I don’t want you to think I think we are falling apart and on life support!
We have a great church. We have a powerful church and we are doing a great work!
What is happening is God is moving us from addition to multiplication!
2+3 = 5 vs 2x3 = 6
2+4 = 6 vs. 2x4 = 8
2+5 = 7 vs. 2x5 = 10
2+10 = 12 vs 2x10 = 20
That is going to happen as we build a team!
With one goal, one mission, one purpose!
Puzzle
We are all a piece of one puzzle… together we define each other and together we reveal the picture!
If you are hear you have a role, responsibility or purpose - we need you!
You represent a piece to the picture that God is painting in this city!
Things we will BUILD:
Communication
Being together
Accountability
Commitment to each other
Mutual honor and respect, trust
Clear roles
Celebrating wins
Conclusion: The value of a team!
Here are the spirits we are fighting in the church…
Fear
Doubt
Intimidation
These produce isolation and confusion
As we build the team, we protect each other from these things…
As we get closer together (opposite of isolation) we see clearly our God and each other!
Turn to Chase
Why does your team exist?
Where does your team find itself in the Bible? (Is there a biblical precedent/practice that mirrors what you do today?)
How does your team impact the culture of the church (beliefs and behaviors)?
