I want to talk to you about going to Elim but before we get there I need to talk to you about the palm tree. Because in Elim there are 70 palm trees there. I don't believe anything in scripture is wasted everything has meaning. So lets look at the palm tree.
Psalm 92:12–15 ESV
The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. They are planted in the house of the Lord; they flourish in the courts of our God. They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green, to declare that the Lord is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
70 palm trees… Number 70 in hebrew teaching is dirived from the number 7(perfection) and 10 meaning completeness spiritual order, divine wisdom. a pattern that emphasizes significance.
The righteous are compared to them…
They are great height and stature, each reach an age of 100-200 years. From generation to generation they stand
2. The roots in the palm tree go deep in the ground they go to where the water is.
Each tree would produce fruit yearly and in abundance in clusters.
There was nothing wasted on the palm tree, the leaves were used to cover homes, fences, baskets and other items, even the seeds when ground up produced food for the camel.
The branches are seen through out Scripture as an instrument of praise.
So in Exodus 15: they went to Marah 3 days in the journey, waters were bitter, God healed the waters and imediatly took them to elim. 1 verse but a powerful message.
Exodus 15:27 ESV
Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees, and they encamped there by the water.
I want to talk about this one verse, divine rest, abundant provision, refreshment,
12 the number in scripture is divine government, divine order, 70 completeness, spiritual order, a pattern of significance.
They were there 20 days 20 in scripture…redemption, complete waiting period
12 springs refreshing for everyone, 12 tribes each family had a refreshing,
as we are praying and getting words and revelation from the Lord we must take some elim moments to be refreshed and to just sit and soak!
