God Set Eternity in the Heart of Mankind

Ecclesiastes 3:11 “He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end.”
John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
John 14:5 “Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?””
Thomas was looking for DIRECTION
Jesus responded with TRUST
Point #1: We must look to CHRIST to the ETERNITY in our Hearts
James 1:22–25 “But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.”
Romans 8:6–9 “For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.”
Point #2: You become what you GIVE your ATTENTION
Jeremiah 17:9 ““The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it?”
ETERNITY = Seeking something beyond
DECEITFUL = Bends reality to serve ourselves
SICK = Beyond human remedy
Acts 15:8–9 ““And God, who knows the heart, testified to them giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He also did to us; and He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.”
Point #3: Living by the TRUTH of JESUS is the only option
John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
The Way = Follow Christ’s example
The Truth = The only real, consistent, and stable facts that we can put our trust in
The Life = Through Christ we have ETERNITY
We must connect with the only Truth through scripture, prayer, and connection.
Challenge: Reflect and ask yourself what is the source of the truth you follow? and where is your attention?
