Who is Jesus? What is the Gospel? the kingdom of heaven is at hand, repent and believe in the Gospel.

Big Idea: Jesus wants to make us fishers of men for the sake of the Gospel.

Whittling - scarring myself - being carved by God
Answer objections -
busyness - pay attention to what Jesus is doing
lack of opportunity - focus where you are at
lack of care (not feeling like you are growing or people care what you do) - you’re looking at the wrong things
not seeing God working - Mark is written to help you see
Purpose - Conversations and Doing good/being a blessing

1. We must believe in the authority of Jesus and follow Him. vs. 21-34

Authority with the Word - not lawyerly/intellectual but to save us
Authority over demons - over something they had no hope of dealing with - absolute verbal authority
Authority over sickness - care for people
He doesn’t permit them to make him known.
How do you connect with Jesus’ authority day to day?
Gospel Prayer - to align yourself with what Jesus wants you to do, to recall His Word and recognize God’s work and opportunities to talk about it

2. Jesus will do unexpected things in preparing for His kingdom. vs 35-39

Prayer - Jesus doesn’t do this on His own
Mission - Jesus doesn’t gather a crowd and turn it into a movement, He keeps on mission to preach the Gospel
