Title: TLC Core Values: Faithful!
For the last two weeks we have began talking about Core Values.
Discussion question: What are Core Values?
Vision is destination - Mission is vehicle - Core values is fuel
Core Values:

Shape decisions
Bind a group together in unity
Establish identity
Keep you honest
Produces faithfulness to the mission
Creates a place for generational success
IN SHORT, CORE VALUES ARE THE GUARDRAILS THAT KEEP VISION FROM CRASHING AND THE CHURCH ON MISSION!
First Core Value is Love
The foundation of everything we do MUST be that we love God and each other!
Second Core Value is Invest For Eternity
Every thing that we do has eternal value!
The Core Value we are going to talk about tonight: Faithfulness.
Two things that we as a church must be faithful to
If we are, everything else will take care of itself.
Faithfulness to the Word of God
What does this mean to you?
How are you faithful to the Word of God?
What are key traits that a Child of God will have who is faithful to the Word of God?
Faithfulness to the House of God
What does this mean to you?
What does it look like to be faithful to the House of God?
Faithful to the Word of God
Faithful in Daily Discipline
Romans 10:17 “17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Proverbs 30:5 “5 Every word of God is pure: He is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.”
Psalm 119:103 “103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!”
1 Peter 2:2 “2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:”
Faithful to Doctrine
2 Timothy 2:15 “15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Intentional in Direction - the Word is final, I must allow it to shape me!
Psalm 119:11 “11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, That I might not sin against thee.”
Psalm 119:105 “105 NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And a light unto my path.”
4. Daily Discipline plus Doctrine plus Direction produces DESTINY!
Faithful to the House of God
Common thought today is “I can worship anywhere!”
True - BUT there are other things that are necessary for your growth than worship!
Discussion question: Why do you come to church? What is the personal benefit?
Have ppl hold their phones up - you can call anyone that has a phone at any time…
Or you can go to their house and have a conversation… WHICH IS BEST? WHY?
Hebrews 10:25 “25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
Psalm 27:4 “4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple.”
Biblical benefits:
Everything you need in at church!
Malachi 3:10 “10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be meat in mine house, And prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, If I will not open you the windows of heaven, And pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”
In God’s house, you have all his belongings!
