Moses, Joseph, John the Baptist. They are godly leaders. They all lived a life of significance.

JOHN THE BAPTIST ARE GODLY MEN.

1. A godly leader seeks godly counsel (v.1)

Benefits of godly counsel: (a) He knows his Purpose.(b) Passion. (c) Talents and areas of giftedness.

Why Passion & Giftedness?

He knows his life purpose

#1. To fulfill your life purpose, you need energy (Passion).

#2. To channel your energy in the right way, you need your strength (talents and areas of giftedness)

2. A godly leader chooses the right inner circle of friends (v.1)

#1. Friends who lift you up.

#2. Friends who encourage you.

#3. Friends who Teach you.

#4. Friends who stretch you.

#5. Friends follow the Rule of Five (=Five things you do everyday)(consistency)

3. A godly leader knows that he is growing spiritually: he gets enjoyment, encouragement, and refreshment from the word of God (v.2)

Growing itself is not good enough, unless he is growing in the direction of his life purpose. He has to have a long obedience in the same direction.
He has to envision himself walking in the middle between success and rejection.

4. A godly leader will successfully stand the storm of life (v.3)

5. A godly leader bears fruit by adding value to others intentionally. He is busy sowing seed.(v.3)

6. A godly man is

6. A godly leader brings success in life (prospers in all that he does) (v.3)

He has to know how to deal with success and rejection.

7. A godly leader is contented (blessed) (v.3).

7. A godly man is truly satisfied and contented (= Blessed).

1. Do you know your life purpose?
