The Power of Our Words
The Power of Our Words
[My] brethren, do not speak evil about or accuse one another. He that maligns a brother or judges his brother is maligning and criticizing the Law and judging the Law. But if you judge the Law, you are not a practicer of the Law but a censor and judge [of it].
One only is the Lawgiver and Judge Who is able to save and to destroy [the One Who has the absolute power of life and death]. [But you] who are you that [you presume to] pass judgment on your neighbor?
11–12 Don’t bad-mouth each other, friends. It’s God’s Word, his Message, his Royal Rule, that takes a beating in that kind of talk. You’re supposed to be honoring the Message, not writing graffiti all over it. God is in charge of deciding human destiny. Who do you think you are to meddle in the destiny of others? (James 4:11–12, MSG)
James in our passage is warns believers about the dangers of speaking ill of one another, emphasizing that such judgment not only harms others but reflects a lack of understanding of our own position before God.
In this passage The main thing is to tell you that we have a obligation to hold up, that yes we are our Brothers keeper and we are to hold our brother and sister right and just to their actions but by no means are we to judge the state that they are in, nor judge them for need help.
I want to ask you this, when was the last time you judged someone? or when was the last time you got judged by someone, and more then that someone who really didn’t know you or vis versa, let me put this example out there, when was the last time you heard they, “ I think i’m Gay, or i like females or i like men and they said this, God made me that way, it is just who i am.” what was your first reaction in you mind, because just cause you didn’t say it don’t mean you didn’t think about it, you had something going on.
Let me use this one, when was the last time you walked pass someone on the side of the sheet or sidewalk, and did nothing. what where you thinking in that moment, what did you say in that moment.
it is not your fault that you judge, because we all do it but it is up to you to decide not to judge people, but to be a loving and caring people to your neighbor, and let me just say to you this that there is a difference in correction and Judgement, Correction is the action of telling someone in an encouraging and caring thoughtful way that something that they are doing or saying is incorrect. Judging someone is voicing or thinking negative thoughts and options about someone and not taking to that people in a positive way.
Let me put this in perspective for you, Correction gives
