Telos: The righteous might bend, but it is in our spiritual DNA to not break.
Information
The term “stress” emerged out of the field of engineering to describe the actual physical strain put on a structure.
Fight- resistance
Flight- withdraw, isolation, self-medicate
Freeze- idle, depressed, confused, angry
Inspiration
Psalm 61:2 NKJV
2 From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
Revelation-
The reason you are hurt, frustrated, and angry is because a part of you knows you were created for more.
Application
Isaiah 61:4–7 NKJV
And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations. Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, And the sons of the foreigner Shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers. But you shall be named the priests of the Lord, They shall call you the servants of our God. You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, And in their glory you shall boast. Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs.

Victory is not the absence of trouble!

Victory is the presence of God’s great power to overcome!

Psalm 42:5 (Passion) So then, my soul, why would you be depressed? Why would you sink into despair? Just keep hoping and waiting on God, your Savior.
For no matter what, I will still sing with praise, for living before his face is my saving grace!
Psalms 42:7 My deep need calls out to the deep kindness of your love. Your waterfall of weeping sent waves of sorrow over my soul, carrying me away, cascading over me like a thundering cataract.
Psalms 42:11 So I say to my soul, “Don’t be discouraged. Don’t be disturbed. For I know my God will break through for me.”
Then I’ll have plenty of reasons to praise him all over again. Yes, living before his face is my saving grace!

Remember Who is with you!

Communion reminds us Who is with us!
Passover!
Ephesians 3:16–19 (NKJV) that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Romans 8:31–32 NKJV
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

The Spirit within you does not agree with giving up.

God wants us to be victors, not victims; to grow, not grovel; to soar, not sink; to overcome, not to be overwhelmed.

The righteous might bend, but it is in our spiritual DNA to not break.
psalm 92.12
Psalm 92:12 NKJV
The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Psalm 92:13 NKJV
Those who are planted in the house of the Lord Shall flourish in the courts of our God.
Psalm 92:14 NKJV
They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing,
100 mile an hour winds might bend tree to ground, but it is making the roots stronger. When adversity stops the tree bounces right back with a stronger root system. Stress Cells.
Biosphere Experiment. No wind. No strength to stand.
The Cedar of Lebanon is a slow growth tree. 10 inches a year. But lives to 600 years.

How to Stand Strong! Praise!

32  The heart of God loves the offerings of a persevering worshipper. Though overwhelmed by many troubles, they are even more overwhelmed by the beauty of God. Matt Redman The Unquenchable Worshipper (2001)

Acts 16:25–26 NKJV
But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.

Doors that were closed opened, and everyone that was bound in chains was loosed!

Romans 4:20–21 NKJV
He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.

No wavering! Strong Faith! Fully Convinced!

The Greater Portion comes to those who don’t quit!

Isaiah 61:7 The Message
Because you got a double dose of trouble and more than your share of contempt, Your inheritance in the land will be doubled and your joy go on forever.
