We have a responsibility to present LIFE to Lincoln!

Invest in eternity
Faithful to the Word of God and House of God
Equipping the Saints to grow in Christ, serve in the local church, and fulfil their God-given purpose!
Title: TLC Core Values: Equip
Is equipping just for the five fold ministry?
Ephesians 4:11–12 “11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:”
Purpose of the Five Fold ministry is:
1. Perfecting the saints for the work of the ministry
2. Edifying of the body of Christ
Discussion question: Who does the work of the ministry?
The saints do!
The Five Fold ministry trains the saints for the work of ministry!
If you are not perfect, it is my fault!
Perfecting:
1. set in order as a doctor sets a broken bone.
2. to prepare or equip through rigorous training.
Discussion question: What does the work ministry here mean?
Ministry:
Service, one who engages in preparations, one who functions in the interest of a larger public event, renders specific assistance, aid or support
One who is an intermediary in a transaction, an agent of another, courier
One who accomplishes at the behest of another, an assistant
Ministry is not a title but a FUNCTION!
Minister is not a pulpit role but the role of a servant!
Preacher and minister are not synonomous!
All preachers are ministers BUT not all ministers are preachers!
BUT all saints (preacher or not) are ministers!
SO WHERE ARE YOU MINISTERING!
AND ARE YOU BEING PERFECTED?
So my job is not just to teach and preach the Word of God
BUT to instruct or to perfect you on how to do the work of the ministry!
Here is how we are going to do this!
The Life Church is becoming a training facility!
We are going to be training HBS teachers.
We are going to be having SS teacher training, bringing in someone to teach the teachers how to teach.
Taking the Pastoral team to conferences
Meeting and reading books together, growing together
Creating a pipeline that will move new converts from the conversion to ministry
Creating a culture where everyone is learning, everyone has a ministry and everyone is pressing into purpose!
Conclusion: PowerPoint
This is the fourth and final installation of our teaching on TLC Core Values.
Love - God and each other. This is the first and second commandment. Without love, all of our best efforts are empty (Matthew 22:36-40; 1 Corinthians 13:1)
Invest - in eternity we are called to set our minds on heavenly things and not earthly things. We invest for eternity by stewarding our time, resources, and abilities for God’s use; (Colossians 3:2, Matthew 25:23)
Faithful - to the Word of God and the House of God. We remain committed to biblical truth and the local assembly. We trust that faithfulness produces lasting fruit; (2 Timothy 3:16, Acts 2:46)
Equip - the saints to grow in Christ, serve in the local church, and fulfil their God-given purpose! (2 Peter 3:18, Colossians 2:6-7, Ephesians 2:10)
John 10:10 “…I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
