John 6: 15-21

I. Jesus Rejects False Expectations (v. 15)

A. The crowd wanted a king, but Jesus withdrew.
B. Jesus will not be used to fulfill human agendas.

II. Obedient Disciples Still Face Storms (vv. 16-18)

A. The disciples were following Jesus, yet the storm comes.
B. Faithfulness does not guarantee smooth sailing.

III. Jesus Reveals His Power in the Storm (v. 19)

A. Jesus walks on the water they fear.
B. What frightens us in under Christ’s authority.

IV. Jesus’ Presence Brings Peace (vv. 20-21)

A. Jesus’ presence brought the absence of fear.
B. Peace and progress come when Jesus is welcomed in.
Job 9:8 “He alone spreads out the heavens, And treads on the waves of the sea;”
Proverbs 30:4 “Who has ascended into heaven, or descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son’s name, If you know?”
