Pilate thought he was being sarcastic. He didn’t know he was being prophetic.
God can, and will use any means to proclaim His Gospel.

These were the most often spoken languages of the day in this area. Pilate was basically making sure that EVERYONE heard this proclammation.

This literally means, “What I have said cannot be changed.”
Again, pilate didn’t know it, but his words were truer than he suspected. because the truth is, Jesus IS the messiah, Jesus IS the anointed, Jesus IS the greatest hope we have against the greatest enemy we will ever know, Jesus IS victorious, Jesus IS on the THRONE!!!!
And nothing. And no one. Can change that.

Soldiers gamble for His clothes (Psalm 22:18).
Jesus says, “I thirst,” fulfilling Scripture (Psalm 69:21).
We even see in verse 32 where Jesus’ bones aren’t broken, it’s in fulfillment of (Psalm 34:20)
The crucifixion wasn’t something that was happening TO Jesus. It was the sacrifice that was orchestrated BY Him.
In Jesus, God’s promises are fulfilled.

This is the same tense that Pilate used. Only thing is, Jesus actually has the authority to make this stick.

Psalm 51:7 - cleanse me with hyssop
When someone saw hyssop, they associated it with the death stain being cleansed, and death being withheld from them.

Jesus is in authority over everything, He keeps His promises, and He will not stop until His work is complete.
