God becoming a man
Opening welcome, we celebrate Jesus coming every day
The ME monster, Share the story about the guy who could destroy anyone
……..I walked on the moon
to have some story that just was better than any other and always had that ion your hip pocket
in some ways these men that got to have that experience in real life are the men in this text.
If you were God, who would you choose to do this in front of? Kings? Leaders? The Rich?
In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This was the first registration when Quirinius was governor of Syria. And all went to be registered, each to his own town. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child. And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.
And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”
When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. And when they saw it, they made known the saying that had been told them concerning this child. And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them. But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.

The incarnation means that God became a human being in the person of Jesus.
That’s it in one sentence.
The word incarnation comes from a Latin word that means “to take on flesh.”
So when we talk about the incarnation, we’re saying:
Jesus is fully God and fully human.
God came near Luke 1-7
God came near Luke 1-7
Jesus is born as a real baby.
He needs to be cared for, wrapped up, and laid in a manger.
This is God stepping into His own creation.
This is the incarnation.
God didn’t stay far away—He came near.
“God knows what it’s like to be human because He became one.”
Hebrew: 2:18 “For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.”
Hebrews 4:15 “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.”

Main Point 2: God Came to Save Us
Main Point 2: God Came to Save Us
(Luke 2:8–20)
The angels announce good news.
Jesus is called Savior, Christ, and Lord.
The shepherds respond by believing, going, telling, and praising.
God didn’t just come to visit.
He came to rescue sinners and bring peace with God.
You can say:
“The baby in the manger came to be the Savior on the cross.”

Worship and Praise to God and Joy
Have you met Christ? (already tonight we sung about him, talked about him, read about him)
Have you actually met him? what the scriptures give us is not hey heres this system called Christianity and its better than all the other systems…. this system is better than the muslim system and the huindu system…. so just go with our system. thats not how the gospels read.
The gospel reads:
Someone came
Our God came to us
He became flesh for us
He lived for us
HE died for us
HE ascended for us
And HE will come again for us
Have you met him? If you sitting here today and wondering idk know if i have or have not…..what i would invite you to do is to turn to him and say i don’ t know if i know you or not.
Turn to him and cry out …..God loves when we turn to him and cry out to him.
The history of the church is that when people do this, an unexplainable joy follows
Voice of the muarders -
Some of you tonight are not happy….. you don’t have to be your not disobeying God if your not happy.
The son of God became a baby and hey lived a perfect life…HE died for us
HE ascended for us
And HE will come again for us
If this is true, then we can have real joy
