The "Iron Sharpening Iron" Fire-Side Challenge
The Activity: bring my knife
The Prompt: "Men, do you see what’s in my hand. Knives don't get sharp by sitting in a velvet box.
In order for the knife to be sharpened it requires friction against another piece of iron or stone.
But when blades are forged what are the conditions that metal is placed under? [heat, pressure].
Then it’s quenched in cold water.
Lately, we’ve had a lot of pressure.
Maybe a bit too much 'heat' for the season we are all in.
But the goal of fight club isn't to see who can carry the most bricks until they break;
it's to make sure no man walks alone.
If we run too fast and lose most our men, we’ve lost the battle.
Tonight is the quench.
The "Course Correction" Speech:
"Our leadership team has been praying and talking.
I realized we were training like it was Week 20 in Week 4.
I love the zeal, but I want to make sure we’re building a foundation that lasts.
The 1st several weeks was a grind the next several weeks is about the gathering.
We’re moving from 'High Volume' to 'High Connection.'
We’re doing this as a team because we want to see every man here at the finish line.
Here is the quench.
Men, we are granting you 52-hour Liberty-Pass this weekend.
No more assignments,
no checklists.
Whatever you haven’t done yet this week is no longer required of you. Enjoy your weekend."
Only 3 exceptions.
You must still do the 10 week commitment (proverb a day, no porn, etc.)
You must keep your commitment to give something up (im still on keto this weekend).
If you’re working on eliminating  strike, you must complete that particular double-down task you reported to your squad leader.

Message
The Scripture Tie-in:
Read Proverbs 27:17:
Proverbs 27:17 ESV
Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.
To sharpen iron, you have to be close. You have to be in contact.
For some of us getting up close and personal is the hardest part of Fight Club
I want to get real with you and have a time of openness, maybe even confession
Describe a time in your life when a 'brother' stepped in and helped you carry a load that was too heavy for you to lift alone. How did that change your perspective on strength?
The "Friction" Question (Relational)
“In the Proverb, iron sharpens iron through friction. Usually, we avoid friction because it's uncomfortable.
Can you share a time when a brother called you out on something or gave you ‘tough love’ that actually made you a better man in the long run?”
2. The "Weight" Question (Transparency)
“We’ve talked about the assignments being heavy lately.
Outside of Fight Club, what is the 'heavy lifting' in your life right now (marriage, work, kids, health) that you’ve been trying to carry without asking for help?
3. The "Legacy" Question (Vision)
When we finish this chapter of Fight Club, what is the one thing you want to be different about your home or your character; What we are actually fighting for?”
Closing with "This I Believe"
This song is a Creed. It’s a statement of what is foundational.
Transition to the Song:
"As we close, we’re moving away from the 'doing' for a moment and focusing on the 'believing.'
We are brothers because of what we share together in Christ.
Let’s stand, lock arms, and declare what we know to be true."
