Think about this for a moment. Is the church interested in more than just getting people “saved”.
Signs point towards something “great”.

It can be a destination, a thought, or a discovery. John gives us “signs” to point us toward who Jesus is and why that should matter.

I don’t want us to go too deep and try to find hidden meanings but as the signs come before us they are not the end themselves. They are pointing to the greatest sign—the death and resurrection of Jesus.

The wedding celebration was central to the community and could last up to a week. Running out of wine was not a good sign.

Jesus did not create a platform and let the world know. Only some of the servants, the disciples, Mary and Jesus know what really happened. If you want to bring hope, joy, life, love, grace and truth into our world you cannot be interested in a platform.

The use of the cleansing jars has an idea that the way things have been will no longer work for what God is doing. The system produced emptiness and not joy.
Jesus brings joys and life to the world.

He is the messianic hope of joy where there was nothing but despair. Hea lone does this.
Let Jesus into your despair, shame, disgrace and hopelessness.
