Week 10: Sharing the Gospel: Communicating the Message
Key Texts: Mark 4; 1 Peter 1:23-25; Rom 1:16
> Tracts – Really helpful in cold evangelism contexts
> Using the Way to God tract as an outline – Promise, Problem, Solution outline order (helpful outline)
> Framing the message – especially important in our increasingly post-Christian/unchurched culture
4 Important elements of frame:
1) Creator 2) Our Purpose 3) Sin/Separation 4) Promise of Salvation
> Important to maintain the full-orbed Gospel; but keep in mind not every Gospel conversation need cover all the bases; conversation can focus on a particular element of the Gospel that may address the point of need evident in a person at a given time.
Using Scripture in Evangelism – Heb. 4:12, Mark 4
Sharing Christ as sharing the Word
List & discuss some passages that communicate elements of the Gospel simply & clearly
> Remember that at the crux of the Gospel message is the person and work of Christ
[ACTION: Take a passage and/or Gospel outline, and begin to practice sharing the Gospel by sharing with family or friend. Parents, begin by sharing with your children!]
