Hannah’s prayer 1 Samuel 1 12-13 wasn’t spoken out loud. her lips moved but no sound came out. People around her misunderstood her but God didn't. This shows us something very important prayer doesn't start with words it starts from your heart. Hannah did not have a polished prayer as verse 10 tell us she was deeply distressed and prayed to Lord bitterly.
Now lets look at Romans8:26-27 Paul is writing to believers who are suffering and discouraged he tells them “ Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God” Paul is describing what Hannah experienced. Hannah didn't know how to explain her pain but God still heard her Romans tells us why the Holy Spirit steps in when we cant , when our words fail the Holy Spirit speaks on our behalf.
In Romans 8:26 says Spirit helps us in our weakness. Not after we feel better not after we feel stronger or even when we figured everything out. Paul is instructing us to pray in our weakness. Hannah didn't wait to feel better to pray she prayed in the midst of pain when all felt lost with no words to say she surrender her pain and suffering to God. the point is we don't pray cause we’re strong we pray cause God is so don't wait to try to figured things out or when you feel better pray in the midst of the storm and God will meet you there.
