..
..
..
this chapter is a small journy that we are taking.
We starting in the valley of death and darkness and closing we are not only saved in christ we also form form a habtiation of God through the the Spirit .
Vers 1

And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2

Before conversion you have been dead!! depreaved , disobedient towards God !
ther lived as if he did not exist - imagen living life with not knowing the law of God
There have been dead in there trespasses because of SIN.
Sins are any wrong doings , falling shourt to the glory of God !
we all now what Sin is.. But that was not always the case before the reformation there was that idea that sin is like a loss of supernatural gifts like beeing a good person and thann falling into Sin.
Before sin, this supernatural gift enabled Adam to choose and do good simply because it was good; after sin, he was “left to nature” and without God’s grace could choose only evil… wich is true in Adams case !
Becasue of that the errors of the roman kathloik church than a human like marry could be Sinless.. This frame work helps to build this kind of Idea that there is the possebilety of not beeing totaly depraved. thats where the protestant came in and disagreed with it and represents personal sin as guilt, richly deserving the just judgment of God, to the utter ruin of body and soul.3 This totality means sin corrupts every dimension of human existence—reason, will, and desire all stand opposed to God until transformed by grace.
Vers 2

in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience

Now Paul his clearly pointing towards the ephesian church and showing them there past that thats the place there come from. \
nd showing it on a there lifes example that there depraved as well as dead walking according to the course of this wolrd. In a world where there is evrey where, immoralety, ungodliness, selfishness, violenence and rebellion.
This waht the ephesians looked like bofore conversion. Not only did there sin but also followed the prince the power of the air. Sin isn’t merely personal rebellion—it’s enslavement to a t spiritual power.
Augustine’s made a example : That a hourse can have only one rider- either God or Satan. , there is no mittel way with out a rider. \
Those dead to God are under Satans rule , fullfiling the devils plan by rebelling against God and destroying themselves. Not forget that evrey human is created in the image of God.
This explains why conversion requires not just moral reformation but spiritual liberation—believers must be transferred from Satan’s dominion into Christ’s kingdom.
Verse 3

among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

Now paul includes himself as we in this verse , where he affirms that we all lived ones in are passions of our flesh ..
fleshly no one desires God , the general way is eather to reject God what athiest do and oters create other models how to find hope … found in other relegion , even in so called christion cyrcls …
not only lived by it but also lived it out where we practiced and carried out the desires of the flesh and mind …
by nature we are the cildren of wrath like the rest of mankind
wich means that children of wrath we are under gods wrath because we have been falling shourt to his holyness. No one can do somthing or has somthing where God is not gonna put his wrath on..
Wrath …. what a prutal word and meaning.
But we are not just under the wrath becasue of are shourt fallings ore the sins we commidet.
We are also because its in are nature ..
we are born in a state of sin and condemnation—this is the Church doctrine of original sin. Our natural condition is not merely physical weakness , but we are born in a state of sin itself.2 Paul’s words declare that men are possessed at birth of an aptitude and disposition which is the object of God’s just displeasure.4
So far the study on the scriptres on this shocking and dark truth.
ephesians 2 is the gospel in one Chapter , it explains all the different aspect of the human nature the grace of God and love towards us.and the salvation plan through Jesus.
Before entering to the next part verses just a small recap of the 3 verses.
I see always people have in there instgram bio ephesians 2, 8
For by grace you have been saved through faith , it is a gift og God
recap of the vally of darkness
before conversion the human is spiritual dead
evrey one walked in the ways of the world ..
following the prince of the power of the air, we are fooling the enemy of god
we followed are passion of are flesh
not only we are under the wrath of God by are sins , but also of are nature we are born into.
Verse 4

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,

BUT, GOD
not paul … apostesl …. good works …. long prayers …. good desiers .. phelosephy ore some self rithguessnes ..
No !!!!!! BUT GOD!!!!
beeing rich in mercey and the great love with wich he loved us !!!!
vers 5

even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved

even when we were dead in our trespasses , made us alive together with Christ !!!
Edwards stresses that believers experience the same resurrection power Christ possessed when raised from death, accomplished through God’s mercy and grace rather than human effort. He notes Paul’s insistence that faith itself is God’s gift, that we are entirely God’s workmanship, and that God foreordained our good works.
Owen tackles the apparent contradiction head-on: salvation comes by grace alone, yet believers must pursue obedience with equal diligence as before. He argues that while works once served as the means to salvation, grace transforms their purpose—now believers perform good works as acknowledgment of free salvation rather than as the condition for obtaining it.1 This demands genuine humility: being as diligent in obedience because we’re saved without works as we would be if salvation depended on them.1 For your sermon, Owen provides the theological resolution to the tension your congregation will feel: grace doesn’t eliminate obedience; it relocates its foundation from fear to love.
Beeing born again gets a higher understanding of understanding first of how much we had need to recieve this Grace and gift from God to be born again.
verse 6

and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus

and than not only made alive that we can live again … but also raised us up into heavenly places ..
The concept describes believers collectively becoming God’s dwelling place through the Holy Spirit’s presence and work within them.
The Shift from Physical to Spiritual Dwelling
Just as God once dwelt in the Old Testament tabernacle, He now dwells in the church through the Spirit.1 However, this represents a fundamental transformation. God no longer inhabits an earthly building, yet He maintains His habitation among His people.1 Wherever believers gather in Christ’s name, there God is present in their midst—that assembly itself becomes His habitation through the Spirit.1
How This Habitation Occurs
The Spirit dwells in the church because He indwells each individual believer.1 The building of believers into this temple occurs through the Spirit’s operation, working faith and love that unite them both to Christ as foundation and to one another.2 This isn’t passive—to experience the Spirit’s presence, believers must be united in a church community, attend worship together, and maintain peace and order among themselves.3
Practical Implications
From recognizing ourselves as God’s habitation flows both our blessedness and our responsibility.1 We become a fitting habitation for God through the Spirit only when we preserve peace, order, and charity among ourselves.3 Conversely, division, neglect of worship, and conflict grieve and vex the Holy Spirit.3
The doctrine transforms how believers understand their identity—you’re not merely individuals saved by grace, but living stones being built together into a corporate dwelling where the living God actively resides.
By the way here we see the princeple of Grace. Mercey means we make it eaven . But grace means we make it even and than get on top even more added to it.
Verse 7

so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus

Paul declares that God’s purpose in salvation is “to show in the coming ages the surpassing riches of his grace in kindness upon us in Christ Jesus.” (Eph 2:7) This verse reveals God’s ultimate aim extends far beyond individual conversion—it encompasses the display of divine generosity across all future ages.
titus3,4

Remind them to be subject to the rulers and to the authorities, to obey, to be prepared for every good work, 2 to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all courtesy to all people. 3 For we also were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, enslaved to various desires and pleasures, spending our lives in wickedness and envy, despicable, hating one another. 4 But when the kindness and love for mankind of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not by deeds of righteousness that we have done, but because of his mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we may become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

verse 8 the mountian cross!!
we finally made it to the top of the mountian !!!.

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Verse 10 the last verse

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

So not only in Sin But also dead spirituallly speaking. There is no hope … No budah , allah, ore any other gods can give the ultemat solution to bring back to live and also forgive sins.
Many relegions there is this idea of long suffering and cleasning to get better with evry effortt to do as many good things as posseble to earn slavation ore to get the idea the deserv somthing higher.
