Sin is expensive

Lecture:
Psalm 86:5 The psalmist connects God’s love (chesed in Hebrew) to anyone who calls upon Him. Later, the psalmist declares how God’s love has been personally expressed to him (v. 13). In v. 15, the psalmist appeals to God’s love. See note on 25:10. Ps 86:5.
85:13 This phrase may have an intentional double meaning: God’s righteousness (tsedeq in Hebrew) enables Israel’s faithfulness and Israel’s righteousness and makes it so that Yahweh can express His love without violating His character John D. Barry et al., Faithlife Study Bible (Bellingham, WA: Lexham Press, 2012, 2016), Ps 85:13.
