Why we need salvation
Why we need salvation
I am a Good person why do i need salvation?
The inheritance of original sin.
in Genesis 2:16–17 “And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” Man was given one rule.
In Genesis 3:1-6 Adam and Eve choose to disobey, and this caused death to enter the world. Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Natural death. Sin is what causes our natural death.
Spiritual Death. Spiritual death happened immediately Gen 3:9
Our own sin separated us from God.
All men have sinned, yes even you. Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” 1 John 1:8 “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” 1 Kings 8:46 “If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) …
Sin causes a separation (death) from God Isaiah 59:2 “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, And your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”
We cannot save ourself.
Isaiah 64:6 “But we are all as an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; And we all do fade as a leaf; And our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”
Psalm 49:7–8 “None of them can by any means redeem his brother, Nor give to God a ransom for him: (For the redemption of their soul is precious, And it ceaseth for ever:)”
2. Since man has fallen into sin, how can he be justified since he has nothing God wants?
God made a way for our sin to be redeemed/justified by the blood of Jesus. Isaiah 53:5–6 “But he was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: The chastisement of our peace was upon him; And with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned every one to his own way; And the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
Christ came himself and paid all of our debt of sin. Hebrews 7:26–27 “For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.”
1 Peter 1:18–19 “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:”
3. Sirs what must i do to be saved? Acts 16:30-31 Believe on the Lord Jesus, and thou shalt be saved.
Proverbs 28:13 “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: But whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”
John 3:19 “And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”
Isaiah 53:10–11 “Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: When thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, He shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: By his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; For he shall bear their iniquities.”
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
