If you have your Bibles with you we will be in Daniel chapter 3

QUESTION: what is the biggest thing you have ever seen

How many of y’all ride roller costers

what is the tallest one you’ve been on

At silver dollar city the tallest one is the time traveler

well today we are talking about King Nebuchadnezzar

What do you know about him

does any one know the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego

That is what we are talking about today

Not bowing down

So S,M, And A were living their regular life in Babylon

then Neb took it apon himself to make a Golden statue

Any Guesses at how tall it was? 90ft

The same height as time traveler

Then Neb got all of the rulers in Babylon to come to him

Told them that when they hear the sound of a horn they are to bow to this Statue

If they didn’t they would be thrown into the fire

What is the hottest thing you’ve ever been in

what about eaten

what about felt

Then everyone in babylon did this

they bowed when they heard the horn because no one wanted to be thrown in the fire

But then some people came to the King Neb and told him some Jewish people who did not bow down

saying stuff like Didn’t you say this king

may the king live forever

you have never gone to your parents before trying to get your Brother or sister in trouble right?

anyway someone came to king Neb to get THE BOYS in trouble

saying these men have ignored you

they do not serve your gods

they do not worship your golden statue

Then king brought them into his room and he was very angry

King started asking them if it was true

*Recap what they did*

they told him yes

Neb then gave them another chance

Saying when you hear the music bow down

again threatens to throw them in the fire if they don’t

Then Neb says there is no God who can rescue you from my power

THE BOYS response to that was

we don’t need to give you an answer to this question. 17 If the God we serve exists, then he can rescue us

and even if God doesn’t we want you as king to know that we will not serve your gods or your statue

that made Neb mad

he said make the furnace 7 times hotter

tie up THE BOYS and throw them into the fire

the fire was so hot that the People who threw in THE BOYS died from the heat

all seemed lost for THE BOYS

then Neb got scared

asking didn’t we throw three in the fire

ofc yes they answered

he asked why do I see four then

and they are walking around no tied up

then Neb went to the door

and said THE BOYS come out

they came out

with all those people who snitched on them in the beginning watching them

they were not harmed

not even the hair on their head

not their cloth robes

not even the smell of fire

Neb is wondering now

Neb said praise be to the God of THE BOYS

he sent angles to protect them

and rescued his servant's who trusted in God

they risked their lives rather then serve anyone or anything other than their God

Then Neb made a new decree

read V29-30

Main things to get

Lesson Focus: Nebuchadnezzar challenged the One true God and discovered His great power. V15b

Lesson Point: God has proved Himself to be the One true God greater than any person who would challenge Him.

I wanna challenge you with this point

I. Be Committed to God

The friends obeyed God rather than the king.

II. Challenging God

The king challenged if there was any god that could save them if they did not obey the king.

III. Confident in God The friends trusted and obeyed God if He did or did not deliver them.

IV. Confirmed God

The friends were miraculously saved from the fire and the king proclaimed their God as true and powerful God.

Closing

As a close I want to give you the challenge to you to stand up for what you know is right

and to read and figure out more about the God that saves his people in this story

if you don’t know this God let me tell you about him

He sent his one and only son

To die for you and me

that is Jesus

he was sinless

sin deserves death

Jesus paid that price for me and you

Accept it
