Welcome

On behalf of Ms. Betty’s family I want to thank you for being here today to honor her memory. I know they appreciate every act of kindness, show of support, phone call, text, card, or visit over these last several weeks.
I’m sure they will continue to need your support, encouragement, and understanding.
While I didn’t know her personally, I am honored to share some Scriptures and speak for a few minutes today.
Betty J. Lillie a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on January 1, 2026 at the age of 93. She has six loving children: Gail Rogers, Vickie Heflin, Dennis Wells, Jerry Wells, and Billie Bouthot, and David Wells who passed away in 2022...she had many cherished grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Known for her kindness, generosity, and a love for family, she will be deeply missed.

Prayer

Grief is real. Death is a thief.
I hope you know it’s ok to grieve. Even our Lord and Savior wept at the grave of Lazarus, knowing that He was going to raise Him from the dead, the Bible says, “Jesus wept.”
But as we weep, believers in Christ know that we have HOPE beyond this life and we have HOPE beyond the grave.
Paul said that we sorrow, but we do not sorrow as those who have no hope.
We have HOPE.
And it appears from what I’ve been told and what I’ve ready Ms. Betty had this same hope. As a matter of fact she left a little note for her family that says:
Bye everyone and don’t cry for me. Be happy. I will be with the Lord and Granny.
Love to all,
Love Mom
What a blessing it must be to stare death in the face and say, I HAVE CONFIDENCE I WILL BE WITH THE LORD.
Based on her favorite verse and her favorite song we have a pretty good idea where her CONFIDENCE was placed!
Favorite verse
John 3:16 KJV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
COMMENTS about John 3:16
Amazing Grace
1 Amazing grace (how sweet the sound) that saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now I see.
2 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved; how precious did that grace appear the hour I first believed!
3 Through many dangers, toils and snares I have already come: 'tis grace has brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home.
As we get ready to close today I have a brief note that I’d like to read from Billie.
But before I do IS THERE ANYONE ELSE THAT WOULD LIKE TO SAY A FEW WORDS TODAY?
Daughter Billie wrote:
My mother was a beacon of love and kindness. She raised her six children with unconditional love, teaching us the importance of compassion, generosity, and selflessness. Her heart was always open, and she never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need. Even in her later years, her love and generosity continued to inspire us all. She’ll be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on through us.
