Acts - Ascension

The first account I made, O Theophilus, concerning all that Jesus began both to do and to teach, until the day in which, having given command through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he chose, he was taken up. (Acts 1:1-2)
To whom also he presented himself living after his suffering, by many proofs, appearing to them through forty days and speaking the things concerning the kingdom of God.And being assembled together with them, he commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which you heard from me; for John indeed baptized with water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days from now. (Acts 1:3-5)
Therefore, when they had come together, they were asking him, saying, “Lord, is it at this time you are restoring the kingdom to Israel?” And he said to them, “It is not yours to know times or seasons which the Father set by his own authority; but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:5-8)
And having said these things, while they were looking, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him from their eyes. And as they were gazing into heaven while he was going, behold, two men stood by them in white clothing, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, the one taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way you saw him going into heaven.” (Acts 1:9-11)
