PP: Global Impact Offering
PP: Global Impact Offering
During the 2nd week of the series -we are going to ask 2 things of you:
First... we’ll be asking for a
1. A 1-time generous offering -
This will go to pay the expenses of our Global impact series, take care of the expenses of our
special speakers and give their ministries a generous contribution.
Last year you stretched hard and we raised just about 20k for missions... this was the best offering
yet! I believe we can do the same this year
· My wife and I will sow the 1st generous seed into this offering.
***We are going to stretch… but we have also planned to give… We are inviting you to join us in this gift.
The 2nd thing we’ll be asking for is a
1. Faith Promise
What is a faith Promise?
A faith promise you are saying... Lord over the next 12
months - by faith we plan to give 50-100--500 to missions- so together we can make a global impact.
God… as you provided it.. . we will give it.
Krista and I plan to give when it comes to missions,.
Krista and I believe as we partnered with God
in his work around the world, he will take care of all we need right here at
TGP.
Another way we can do this is because , we believe that MORE is not always for me
See… you might get a raise, a bonus, a surprise gift, extra work, capital gains, etc... when that happens for us we consider more what we do for the kingdom.
MAKR SURE TO INDICATE THAT YOUR GIFT IS FOR Gi
How many of you are you ready for the Word!

Open your bible to our text for today… 2 Tim 4:1-15 Paul is instructing Timothy a young leader in his faith Journey and tells him this…
Text: 2 Tim 4:1-5 ESV
Text: 2 Tim 4:1-5 ESV
I CHARGE YOU in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom:(I charge you to do this-v.2) 2 preach the WORD; BE READY in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. 3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. 5 As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, (He sums it all up by saying this… )DO THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST(which is Share the good news about Jesus), fulfill your ministry.
Here is the bottom line of this passage to Timothy and to us…
I charge you
Be Ready (Invite)
Do the Work of an evangelist
As we look all throughout the scriptures… we see this call to do the work of Evangelism as Jesus is sending his disciples…
Where do we do the work of Evangelism… Mark 16:15,
And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.
This is core assignment as the church to do the work of an Evangelist… which is all about sharing the Good News about Jesus to all of Creation
At The Grace Place we describe it like this our Mission is both Locally and Globally.
The title and focus for today is…
Title | The Mission is Local ________
Yea… for the vast majority of us… when it comes to sharing the good news…
Our mission is not to go across the OCEAN, but to go across the STREET. (REPEAT)
Our work of evangelism is a local to…
Our Neighbors, family, co-workers, four kids sports teams, your schools…
***Feel free to encourage people to listen to the Holy Spirit speak to them personally as the message is preached
LETS PRAY
YOU CAN WALK OFF THE STAGE WHEN YOU SAY AMEN

Introduction
Introduction
VISUAL: The Work of An Evangelist
I want to show you what the work of an EVANGELIST can do….
How many of you…
Grew up where Christ was talked about in your home or by a friend, and you learned about Him in this way
STAND ON YOUR FEET - STAY STANDING…
How many of you are here today becuase someone
Personally invited you to church? Or compelled you in your faith Journey…
Would you stand
Now… Maybe your here today becuase you
Drove by the Building… or some other seemly random situation… but is it possible… that somewhere in your past.. someone talked to you about Christ… or challenged your faith? And God used that moment to begin knocking on your door… and you we’re compelled to come…
Would you stand
Friends… your looking at the results of the WORK OF EVANGELISM.
Without the work of an evangelist… most of us would not be here.
You may be seated…
A study done by lifeway Research said this:
Only 5% of Unchurched people have received an invite to Church.
That means that 95% of unchurched have never been invited… let that sink in…
It’s also said… that
80% of Unchurched people say they would go if invited
This is why Jesus said in Lk 10:2…
….“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
This means… there is enough harvest out there… to fill up every church in the US and more… but there is enough workers… to to simply invite them.
This study also says…
40% of Christians said they didn’t know anyone to invite.
This tells me that are too many believers huddled up on the bench and not on the field.
Let me say this as a Pastoral Caution… LET LOOK AT IT ON THE SCREEN TOGETHER…
In our attempt to be set a part; we must be careful that our isolation does not undermine the Great Commission (Repeate)
For many it’s not always apathy - it’s proximity
We have become so isolated… that our light is not shining in the darkness.
David Kinnaman, CEO of Barna Group said
"Young people today are showing a renewed openness to faith, and many are finding their way back into church communities.
Friends.. there is hope for the world! There always has been! This good news for those of us called to do the work of evangelism.
Transition: the title of our message today is...
Series | The Mission is Local _______
Today I want to teach you how to do the work of an Evangelist in a way that works for everyone.
Evangelism is NOT just for Street Preacher… this is a unique calling.
But its for everyone.
Krista and I we’re mentored by one of the greatest soul winners in our time, Pastor Tommy Barnet.. His church was the POSTER church for evangelism of every kind. Why becuase there is NOT just one way to Evangelize.
Most of the people in our church we’re everyday people just like you and me.
You might have a hard time seeing yourself on the street corner with a bull horn, but I want to give you a vision for the everyday career person, mom, dad student to live as an evangelist.
By the way… we are giving you an opportunity to use this gift of evangelism on two different Local Missions Trips that are open for registration. They are both very affordable and a great introduction to Missions.
We have a trip going to Florida - in June to work with a local missions organization called The Ark… Lead by Jane & Stephen Deal.
We also have a trip going to Puerto Rico - in July… where we’ll be serving local churches and evangelizing … I’ll be leading that trip
Two important things.
Both of these trips are open in the church center app.
There is an interest meeting event if you want to learn more before you sign up.
There is also an actually event sign up if you know you wan to go.
Both of these trips will be amazing.. and family friendly.. depending on the situation
Doing the work of an evangelist requires two simple things.
The first … IN YOUR NOTES…
It requires PRAYING. Col 4:3
It requires PRAYING. Col 4:3
The heart an Evanglist… is born in prayer.
It’s where we learn to see where he is moving and gain the courage to move with him.
In Col 4:3… Paul… one of the greatest evangelist even asked for prayer as he evangelized. Lets look at it on the screen…
***CLAY THIS SCRIPTURE WILL COME FAST SO YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE SAME SLIDE AS THE POINT.
At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison—
Paul asks for prayer as he was doing the work of an evangelism….
Paul also knew this… that… God is the one who opens the door….
Let me say it like this…
We don’t PRY doors open; we PRAY them open
We don’t PRY doors open; we PRAY them open
Pray for open doors…
Chances are… many of you are already in relationship with those you are called to reach - and they are ready…
Pray that God opens doors with these individuals -
Lets be Practical… For me… I have a list of names for people who I am praying for doors to open with…
I pray for sensitivity… and open doors to engage and introduce the Gospel to them…
But Guess what…. I TOO CAN DO BETER… WE ALL CAN… OTHERWISE OUR CHURCH WOULD BE OVERFLOWING.
Here is the question I believe scripture is inviting us to ask ourselves today…
Question: Who is on Your Prayer list?
Question: Who is on Your Prayer list?
This is a challenge for you to Pick 3 who are in your circle of influence and begin praying… as Paul did for open doors.
And.. fit it into your rhythm of prayer.
Places the work of an evangelism as a priority of your prayer list… and heart will grow
It will Sensitizes you to his mission…
the harvest is Ripe… the workers are few
We are called to make do the work of an evangelist…

Doing the work of an evangelist requires two simple things.
It requires PRAYING…
The 2nd thing it requires… IN YOUR NOTES is this…
It requires INVITING. Lk 14:23
It requires INVITING. Lk 14:23
Yea… once we pray… when we sense the open door… we must do something about it… and walk through the door in FAITH.
One of the things that was taught to me early on in my faith Journey is this…
Invite people into your world… this is a great evangelism tool…
Invite them into the space you are already in
Your C-group
Your Backyard gathering at your house.
Coffee with your friends.
Or Sunday Lunch
***Let them see Christ shine in your everyday life and watch God open doors to an invite…
There must be an intentional invite…
In Luke 14:23… Jesus tells a story to emphasize the importance of inviting people… and the story closes with this
And the master said to the servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedges and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled.
In other words… he is saying… be intentional do whatever it takes without compromising yourself… and invite them in… invite them to make a move of faith…
I want to help you recognize perfect invite MOMENTS…
When people are in transition or going through something difficult… they are open for help - this is a perfect moment to deliver HOPE
When someone says…
I new around here
I’ve never been through this before…
I have no friends…
I need help with…
The list goes on and on with all the ways someoen is asking for help.,,
Be ready to respond to these moments
Here is what I would say to someone who said “I’ve never been through this before”
Depending on the situation I might say…
Im really sorry your going through this… I found… when I went through something simular… my faith helped me get through it… I would love to invite you to my church… Can I shoot you the info?
Send them the info..
Follow up with a direct ask to join you and grab lunch after Church
There are a million different directions these conversations could go… always circle back to prayer.. and be ready to lean into wherever God might be moving in their life.
We have some great evangelist in our Church.
STORY of (WRITE THIS OUT)
Jame & Lilly Mendoza… as they we’re just available to Jesus and invited their neighbors… Emilio & Cristina - who God saved… and are now digging into their faith in whole new way…
I want to highlight some resources that are great tools to help you invite someone into your world.

Doing the work of evangelism requires INVITING…
Let me say it like this…
Inviting is OBEDIENCE, doing nothing is DISOBEDIENCE.
Inviting is OBEDIENCE, doing nothing is DISOBEDIENCE.
This is part of the core mission for very beleiver.. to do the work of an EVANGELIST.
Inviting is not an option for KINGDOM PEOPLE.
Your not responsible for how someone responds to the invite… but you are responsible to invite.
Here is the question I believe scripture is inviting us to ask ourselves today…
Question: How would you invite people who say…
Question: How would you invite people who say…
I new around here
I’ve never been through this before…
I need help with…
I want to invite you to reflect on this… pray and ask God how to respond to someone who give you an opportunity… write out your response… share it with your family at lunch… or over dinner this week…

Transition: As I close today….
I would be remiss if I did not invite anyone who might be here today… and not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior… into a relationships with JESUS… today
Ephesians 2:8 reminds us: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Salvation requires two things:
1. God’s Grace—His undeserved gift of forgiveness and life because of His love for you.
2. Faith—placing your trust in Him for salvation.
If you’ve never asked Jesus to save you, today is your day. If you’d like ask him… , raise your hand.
I want to invite you to Repeat a prayer after me
Next week we’re talking about the 2nd part of this mission… which is this…
The Mission is Global ….
eff Anderson will be here next week representing One of my favorite partners… Convoy of Hope…
the are the hands and feet of Jesus around the world.
We are in for a treat….
So today… if you do NOT know Jesus as your Lord and Savior today is your day…
Salvation Altar Call
I believe Jesus is here today, and He wants to save you. Salvation simply means to deliver or to free. It’s not just about delivering you…
It’s about believing
Believing in Jesus means trusting what He say’s—about sin, and eternal punishment, thats the bad news.
The good news is this… that His death on the cross paid the penalty for our sins, making us right with God.
I want to invite you to Repeat a prayer after me
· There is nothing magical in this prayer.. it simply is a way of declaring to Jesus what has taken place in your heart.
Here is how I would like to end the service for everyone else….
Call to Action Altar Call
We’re going to end the service with A question as we do nearly every week.
ALL ACROSS THE ROOM – HAS THE HOLY SPIRIT spoken to you in anyway today?

“I new around here”

What might the Holy Spirit be saying to you in light of this teaching?
How might the Holy Spirit want to transform you in light of this teaching?
What actions might the Holy Spirit want to take in light of this teaching?
Tongues & Interpretation
1. To STRENGTHEN the Church (1 Cor14:5)
For prophecy is greater than SPEAKING in TONGUES, unless someone interprets what you are saying so that the whole church will be STRENGTHENED.
Believers, God has operated through this gift today to strengthen you today. Let your faith be strengthened and know that God is in control and using supernatural measures to speak to us.
2. Is a SIGN for unbelievers. (1Cor. 14: 21a, 22)
1 Corinthians 14:21–22 (ESV)
In the Law it is written, “By people of strange tongues and by the lips of foreigners will I speak to this people, and even then they will not listen to me, says the Lord.” Thus tongues are a sign not for believers but for unbelievers, while prophecy is a sign not for unbelievers but for believers.
22 - So you see that speaking in tongues is a SIGN, not for believers, but for UNBELIEVERS.
The Bible explains to us God has chosen to use this gift to be a sign for you. A sign for what? It is a sign of his realness for those of you who have been doubting or questioning the existence of God. He wants you to know he is REAL and he wants to bring you spiritual life and health. If you're in here today and you don't know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior... he wants you to know he has gone to great lengths to show you his love today. (Great opportunity for a salvation altar call if it fits).
