The Hidden Truth

How many of you imaged this many teenagers are dealing with pornography within the church

I share these statistics to show that many people believe they are one of the only a few people that deal with this area of sexual immorality. The devil’s plan is to isolate you in your sin and to keep it quite from those that can keep you accountable and guide you to freedom. But we are going to break that today.

What is sexual immorality: The satanic perversion of the natural sexual desire given from God; that is meant to be explored in the covenant of husband and wife.

Many people believe that sexual desire itself is a sin, but its not. It is beautiful thing that God placed in every human being. But as the Devil always does, he tries to taint, twist and destroy the beautiful things God has given us.

What are some expressions of sexual immorality: Masturbation, Fornication, Adultery, pornography, promiscuity, homosexuality, trans-gender, pedophilia, beastiality, incest, polygamy.

The Trap:

The perversion is so strong that people will literally pride themselves in these ungodly, unnatural desires. Homosexuality being one of the biggest ones.

Homosexuality often stems from a lack of identity. And the enemy uses that to plant perverse thoughts in a way that makes them feel like its their “true self.”

And when they start the journey of “discovering themselves,” they are never fully fulfilled because they never find their God given purpose.

They will always be striving to something that God never intended This keeps them in the endless trap of lack of identity.

The enemy does the same thing all other areas of sexual immorality. The person addicted to pornography will find their need being meet with the fantasy of what they are experiencing over the screen. The person addicted to sexual promiscuity, will find fulfillment with having sexual partners.

And even when the moment comes when that person is not doig it for them anymore, they will jump to the next person because they have entered of cycle of deception that tells them that that is the only way to feel loved.

What ways can people enter into these traps:

Generation Curses (Parents)

Traumatic events (Sexual Abuse)

Souls Ties (Sexual and Emotional)

Searching for fulfillment in the wrong area

Your Means of Escape:

You need to make the decision to be real. Not just the fact that you are dealing with it. But the true state of where you are with your sin. The reason why many people still deal with sexual sin is because they are not honest about how they truly feel about it.

When you tell God, “I hate how this makes me feel,” you say enough to make yourself feel sorry but not repented.

Its comfortable enough for you to feel like you’re still good with God but not enough to cause real change.

To be free, you need to stop abusing God’s grace and be real.

The whole reason you have the temptation to sin is because it is a desire in you for it.

James 1:14–15 ESV

But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.

The Devil sends you the thought but you still choose to entertain it because deep down you have the desire to sin.

We are too weak to overcome it on our own.

The way you become free is through a true repentance. True repentance begins when you understand how much your sin hurts Jesus.

When you come to the understanding that you hurt the Heart of Christ when you fall into sexual sin, that will cause a ripple effect into the rest of your life.

Grow tired of your sin. Not just because it makes you feel guilt. Guilt never causes anyone to change.

It only helps sooth your conciseness to make you believe that you are fine with God because it makes you feel bad, but not bad enough to make you change.

Only a truly repentant heart surrendered to God will lead to change.

You’re not just sorry, you’re sorrowful for offending God.

Stop making the excuse of: “Its just one more video” “Its just one look” “Its just one time” “I haven’t done it in so long” “But I can repent afterwards” Its so easy to fall into the trap of pleasing yourself when you are not ambitious for pleasing God.

The only way to escape temptation: Be fully commited and unapologetic about pleasing God with your life.

“I am a sinner. This is what I have always dealt with. God know’s I am a sinner and that I am weak.”

Yes, but that is not an excuse to continue in your sin

We have the Holy Spirit as a guarantee that He has prepared us to overcome our flesh.

2 Corinthians 5:1–9 ESV

For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this tent we groan, longing to put on our heavenly dwelling, if indeed by putting it on we may not be found naked. For while we are still in this tent, we groan, being burdened—not that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him.

Our goal in life is not to become sinless because that is impossible. Anyone that tells you that they have never sinned or desired to sin after they have been saved is a liar.

But our goal is to grow to a maturity in stepping away and taking control over out body when there is a desire to sin.

Your purpose:

To please God not Man

1 Thessalonians 2:4 ESV

but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts.

1 Thessalonians 4:3–4 ESV

For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor

The purpose of your life is not please your own desire or to please man.

Girls - Your purpose in life is not to please a man with your body. Or to find out many men you can came fall in love with you. Its to honor God with your body.

Guys - Your purpose in life is not to see how many girls you can mess around with. Its to honor God with your body

Romans 8:8 ESV

Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

If you live a lifestyle pleasing to yourself, it is in-turn a life that can never please God.

Luke 16:13 ESV

No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”

You can not live to please your sexual desires and live to please God. You cannot live to please your boyfriend/girlfriend and please God at the same time. Sin and pleasing God can never happen at the same time.
