Call to Worship

Holy Father, Your word says that we should
Ephesians 4:32 NASB 95
Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
May the power of Your Spirit enable us to be kind to each other this day. If there be anything for which one of us is holding a grudge against another within this assembly, may Your Spirit convict us of our sin, and may He enable us to forgive, and reconcile with our brother or sister in Christ.
Father, may You be honored in our offering of worship this day.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Pastor’s Prayer

Father God,
We come to You this day acknowledging that You are truly an awesome God. You alone are to be feared an worship throughout the earth, for only You are God. We are awed by Your deep love for us; a love which caused You to send Your Only Begotten Son to be born as a man, and to die in order to satisfy Your wrath against the sins of the people who are called by His name.
Father, we thank You for the example Your Son, Your Servant set for us regarding gentleness and justice. May we follow His example by being gentle with one another. May we follow His example by being just in all of our dealings with our fellow man.
Lord, I bring before You one of our missionaries, John Sircar, who is serving at the Bangladesh Theological Seminary. May Your hand of blessing be upon his ministry and his family. Lord, he is living and serving in an area which is often hostile to believers. I pray that You would protect he and his family. I pray that Your Spirit would enable them to persevere in this ministry to which You have placed him.
Lord, I pray for those among us who are hurting. I think of Glenna who has been in so much pain for various things. Lord, I pray that if it be Your will that You would provide healing and relief. But Lord, if it be Your will that she should continue in this, I pray that You would be glorified in the way that she goes through this trial. And Lord, I do ask that You would provide her with seasons of relief.
Father, I pray for Lloyd who will be starting a new trial for a procedure which may provide relief. Lord, again, I pray if it be Your will that this medical trial would provide positive results. But, Lord, most of all, I pray for Lloyd and Sue that You would help them to be content with whatever state they are in.
Lord, I pray for Doug who is having a procedure this week. I pray that all would go smoothly. I pray for Lois as she ministers to him during this time.
Father, there are many others who are hurting — You know their needs far better than I do. I pray that each would recognize Your constant presence with them, and find encouragement in that presence.
Lord, I pray for Body of Christ, I pray that You would give us each a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Yourself. I pray that the eyes of our hearts would be opened so that we can know the hope of our calling in Christ, that we may know the riches of the glory of the inheritance we have with the saints, that we might know the power You have toward all who believe.
Father, I pray for any here who are not believers in Jesus Christ — I pray that this would be the day in which Your Spirit removes the blinders from their eyes so that they may perceive the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ and be saved.
I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
