What is Your Why?

1 Peter 2:9–12 ESV

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.

1. I Follow Jesus, Because Jesus has Changed my Life

In Christ...you are Chosen

In Christ...you are given purpose

In Christ...you are set apart

In Christ...you belong

2. I Follow Jesus, Because Jesus has Set Me on a New Course

I am no longer of this world

I am a citizen of Heaven

I am enrolled in a war (race)

3. I Follow Jesus, Because Jesus is the HOPE of the World

We live in a world full of people walking in darkness

We live in a world full of people deceived by the enemy

We live in a world full of people who have no hope

Jesus is the HOPE of the world

When you faithfully follow Jesus:

Your manner of life refutes the lies of the enemy

Your manner of life reflects the love of Jesus

Your manner of life...might just be the turning point for someone else's life
