But if you have been reading Romans you noticed the next section.

I believe this is a REALITY CHECK

teach you that IF YOU DO THIS ——- then you can manifest THAT

HOGWASH ———————- JESUS is OUR SOURCE OF POWER< PRESENCE< PROVISION

Romans 1:18–19 ESV

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.

Wiersbe’s Expository Outlines on the New Testament (Chapter 1) Evolutionists want us to believe that humans have “evolved” from primitive, ignorant, beast-like forms into the marvelous creature they are today.

Paul says just the opposite:

man began the highest of God’s creatures, but he made himself into a beast!

I remember going to the zoo here in Albuquerque with our Daughter a few years ago

watching the Gorillas

—- Dad isn’t it amazing —- we evolved from THEM

I ask her if these were the DUMB ones??? huh she said

IF we evolved from them… why are these ones still here

so much for TRUTH vs Evolution

Darwin himself later in life —- Found that the REAL ANSWER —- there had to be SOMETHING that started it ALL

CHRISTIANS we SAY THAT IS GOD

TRUTH CHECK:

Genesis 1:26–27 ESV

26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

WRATH needed to be PRESENT and REAL so that the GLORY OF GOD could SHINE

Note the three judgments of God:

God gave them up to uncleanness and idolatry, vv. 24–25. God gave them over to vile passions, vv. 26–27. God gave them over to a reprobate mind, vv. 28ff. ——- SCANDOLOUS MIND

that is EARTHLY REALITY

don’t you watch the NEWS and THINK

thank GOD I have CHRIST !!!!

We most certainly have gained intelligence in this world

Man has discovered AMAZING THINGS

why BECAUSE GOD realized them

Our understanding of God comes from the AMAZING, POWERFUL AND UNEXPLAINABLE

How our bodies function on a cellular level

How the universe spins in HARMONY beyond our view

YET the Truth is that we

WE HAVE CHASED the WIND

and GOD wants us to CHASE HIM

We seek earthly pebbles,

when the TRUE amazing GLITTER is only FOUND in GOD

here is some TRUTH...

We Know God

Romans 1:20 ESV

20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

Look around, clear your mind and SEE the BEAUTY of GOD and the amazing things of God

I believe one of my first experiences as a child was..

one of my geeky pleasures is AFRICAN VIOLETs

I have had them since childhood —- over 50 in my bedroom

I could care for them —- BUT GOD made them BLOOM

I could cross pollinate them —- BUT GOD created the real outcome of that FLOWER

A FARMER understands the Power and Control of His Crops that only comes from God

GOD controls the RAIN, the soil, and the Sun

—- GOD creates the WINDS and the WATER, the FIRE and the FURY

We are with out Excuse!!!

One of the issues is this

We Do Not Fully Acknowledge God

Romans 1:28–30 ESV

28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. 29 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,

We trade TEMPORARY instead of EMBRACING ETERNITY

We Seek Our Own Understanding!!!

Romans 1:21–23 “21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.”

We all KNOW

there is GOD

and most of us —- ACKNOWLEDGE HIM

YET we DOUBT HIM

many times in subtle ways

This is all due to our LIMITED KNOWLEDGE

We believe that the GOVERNMENT CONTROLS

Our choices

Our pride in our FINANCIAL DEALS

We seek to DEFINE our OUTCOMES in LIFE

FRIENDS ——— GOD IS IN FULL CONTROL OF ALL THINGS

Romans 8:28 ESV

28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

GOD KNOWS US COMPLETELY and WE GROW in our UNDERSTANDING OF HIM

THIS SECTION OF ROMANS is a REALITY CHECK

WE KNOW GOD, BUT WE DO NOT HONOR HIM

The WORD says that we have become FUTILE in our THINKING —— OUR FOOLISH HEARTS are DARKENED

HERE IS A MOMENT OF GOOD NEWS —— JESUS IS THE LIGHT FOR OUR DARK HEARTS

We Exchange His TRUTH for Lies

Romans 1:24–25 “24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity,

to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves,

25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie

and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.”

You can read the list in VERSES 28-31

I suspect you will connect with some of them

I am NOT going to read them outloud today… Mainly because of the issue we will focus on the SINS and NOT OUR SAVIOUR

We need to PRAISE the VICTORY, and not WALLOW in the MIRE

and at the CORE of the LIST is

TRUTH

We seeks the LUSTS of this WORLD

We worship in part the creature —- the earthly things

We started to believer our Lies rather than HIS TRUTH

Don’t beat yourself UP

we have been told lies by parents, schools, media

BUT we are without excuse —- BECAUSE we have been GRANTED access to JESUS

We MUST explain this to OTHERS

We REJECTED HIS Knowledge

Psalm 14:1 ESV

1 The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does good.

it all started in EDEN.....

so you see the ISSUE in part. Taking the COMMAND OF GOD LIGHTLY

LISTENING TO SURELY HE DID NOT SAY

We seek the WRONG PRIZE...

We evaluate things on an EARTHLY UNDERSTANDING....

We are all Sinners in need of a SAVIOUR....

I sat the other night at dinner —— listening to friends lament about the news stories of women in the news

leaving there babies in portable toilet

Yet tearing a baby in the womb is acceptable

and I SAY HERE it is DETESTABLE

Whether in the WOMB or in the WORLD —— LIFE IS GIVEN ONLY BY GOD

The end of our verses today is HARD TO READ — HARDER TO ACCEPT

We all are GUILTY OF many of these SINS

We deserve the WRATH for our AWFUL SINS

There is AMAZING

LOVING

GOD GRANTED.....

The Good News

WE need to KNOW the TRUTH —— for it is the TRUTH that SETS us FREE

PEACE, FORGIVENESS, GRACE, and LOVE

that is GOOD NEWS —- it is the GOOD NEWS

Romans 5:8 ESV

8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

In all the UGLY of SIN BUT

GOD gives us GRACE ——- DEEP GRACE —— DEEPER LOVE

We are SINNERS YES

We need a SAVIOUR

We NEED a SAVIOUR

since EDEN

WE NEED A SAVIOUR

and GOD provided

FIRST TO THE JEWS

THEN TO US —- the GENTILES, the BARBIANS

We were ONCE HATERS of the LIGHT

because of our comfort in the DARK

Our sins collected in a BUCKET of FILTH

WE COME TO CHRIST

OUR BUCKET EMPTIED

OUR SINS FORGIVEN

FORGIVENESS is NOT a ONE TIME EVENT

GOD’s GRACE IS MIGHTIER THAN THE WORLD

GOD LOVES YOU

UNCONDITIONAL

UNDESERVING

and UNLIMITED

we must SHARE THIS GOOD NEWS WITH OTHERS

SINNERS IN NEED OF A SAVIOUR

SALVATION is a BELIEVE away

We have the ability to WALK in WISDOM

because of the HOLY SPIRIT —- HE who LIVES IN US

KNOW THE SINNER KNOW THE SAVIOUR

and in the HARD TRUTH of THESE WORDS today

WE HAVE a FOUNDATIONAL TRUTH

John 3:16 ESV

16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

We are FORGIVEN, PROTECTED, PROVIDED, and LIVE in the PRESENCE OF CHRIST

the HOLY SPIRIT GIVEN TO US

“THEY” in our VERSES today are the LOST.

We LIVE IN CHRIST DAILY

We are NOT OF THIS WORLD

We are NOT chained to THESE verses

and that MY LOVED ONES is the GOOD NEWS
