Not created — eternally existent.

Colossians 1:16–17 “16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”

Fully, eternally God
Doctrinal Depth:
This is foundational for the Trinity.
John leaves no room for a diminished Christ.
He is not JUST a good teacher / prophet / visionary
Quote:
A.W. Tozer — “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.”
II. The Power
II. The Power
3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
A. Creator of All Things

Hebrews 1:2–3 “2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. 3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,”
2 Corinthians 4:6 “6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”

1 John 1:5 “5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”
Application:
No darkness in your life is stronger than Christ’s light.
IV. The Purpose
IV. The Purpose
30 Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
After 20 chapters of signs, miracles, teaching, death, and resurrection — John tells us why.

Imagine being in a pitch-black cave.
Someone strikes a match.
That tiny flame changes everything.

The Light didn’t flicker.
It didn’t get extinguished or go out.
It blazed into the world — and the darkness could not overcome it.
