1 Peter 2:13-17

Today lets look at a couple different ways you can study God’s word.
Define the words.
Look up different definitions.
Read different translations.
Look at other referred to scriptures.
Use commentaries (Be careful)
PRAY for understanding!!
Receive tie power and grace to walk it out.
1 Peter 2:13–17 ESV
13 Be subject for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, 14 or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good. 15 For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people. 16 Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. 17 Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.
This may be one of the least embraced truths in most of the church world.
Why you ask? Hearts of Rebellion
Hebrews 3:12–19 ESV
12 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. 13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. 15 As it is said, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.” 16 For who were those who heard and yet rebelled? Was it not all those who left Egypt led by Moses? 17 And with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient? 19 So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.
AUTHORITY.—The capability, liberty, and right to perform what one wills. The word implies also the physical and mental ability for accomplishing the end desired. Authority refers especially to the right one has, by virtue of his office, position, or relationship, to command obedience.
For most I have found the only agreement for authority is when the one in charge is ME!!!!!
The first mountain we must climb in understanding anything about authority is settling who is in authority.
The ultimate source of authority for Christians is the triune God himself, as revealed through the Bible.
We must understand a problem with authority is a problem with THE AUTHORITY…….
GOD HIMSELF IS THE AUTHORITY
We all must settle the authority of God revealed in his word.
I backed out of this teaching exactly 2 years ago.
The first rule of submission is it must come from the heart!
So if I want to honor God in my submission, it is not when I agree with something it is because from the depths of my heart I know God is in Control and I trust Him!

The Son of God Himself was made perfect through obedience (

The one lesson of the life of Jesus is the one lesson of the word of God from first to last—God must be obeyed. Absolute obedience was essential to the fulfilment of His mission.

Absolute obedience is essential to our own salvation. Having learned obedience, He became a Saviour to those who obey (

Obedience is as possible with us as it was with Him. For He is able to work in us now the very same mind that was in Him, the same disposition and spirit He had upon earth. D. A. HAYES.

1 Peter 1:13 ESV
13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 1:17–22 ESV
17 And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one’s deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile, 18 knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. 20 He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you 21 who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. 22 Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,
