In 1873 in California a man who grew grapes had a problem.  All of his grapes had dried out and he didn’t know what to do with them.  He sent the dried grapes to a friend in San Francisco who had a store to see if he could do anything with them.  His friend convinced people that they were a fine food from Peru in South America.  People loved them and raisins continued to be sold from that time on.

What appeared to be a disaster turned out to be something good for the grape farmers.

Romans 8:28 says

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

This means that even things that happen to us that might seem bad or that we don’t understand are all part of God’s plan and that He loves us.
