The ONLY way we are empowered to successfully walk in grace is THROUGH the Holy Spirit!

Certainly not THROUGH the flesh (a big picture of ‘why’ is forthcoming!) [5.17; these are polar opposites]

**The Holy Spirit leads us to walk IN grace.

FLESHLESSLY [Galatians 5.19-21]

Galatians 5:19 “Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, moral impurity, promiscuity,”

Warning! … Obvious-ly… Avoid!

A contrary list [5.19b-21a]

These habits exclude! [5.21b]

**The works of the flesh prevent us from walking IN grace.

FRUITFULLY [Galatians 5.22-23]

Galatians 5:22 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,”

Focus for fruitful, Spirit-blessed life (character, etc.).

**The fruit of the Spirit is the produce of walking IN grace.

CRUCIFIEDLY [Galatians 5.24-26]

Galatians 5:24 “Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”

We truly live when we consider ourselves dead.

Kill the flesh. [5.24, 26]

March to the Spirit’s beat. [5.25]

**Dead to the flesh is walking IN grace.
