Introduction of Pastor Bruce
Introduction of Pastor Bruce
Before we jump into tonight, there’s something that would be completely out of order if we didn’t pause for it.
Vision Night is about where we’re going.
But we would not be here if someone hadn’t first said “yes.”
Forty years ago, Pastor Bruce and Sheryl stepped out in faith and planted what would become Gloucester County Community Church. They carried the burden when there were fewer chairs. Fewer resources. Fewer people. But a big calling.
They prayed.
They sacrificed.
They endured.
They built.
They shepherded.
For four decades.
That’s not just longevity.
That’s faithfulness.
Scripture tells us in 1 Corinthians 3 that one plants, another waters, but God gives the growth. Pastor Bruce planted. He labored. He protected the early vision. He stood firm in conviction. He modeled holiness, biblical stability, and spiritual warmth long before those words were ever read off a slide tonight.
And Miss Sheryl — we honor you as well. Every pastor who lasts 40 years does not do so alone. The strength, prayer, and sacrifice behind the scenes matter more than most people will ever know.
PBruce, you and Sheryl gave your lives to this house.
And tonight, as we talk about mission, trustees, and the future — it is only right that we honor the foundation before we build the next floor.
Church, would you help me honor our founding pastor and his wife for 40 years of faithful ministry?
[Pause for applause.]
Bruce, it is an honor to follow in what you started. It’s an honor to steward what you planted. And it’s a joy to invite you to come and share with us tonight.
Would you welcome Pastor Bruce. .… then PB speaks.
Honor Moment – After Pastor Bruce Speaks
Honor Moment – After Pastor Bruce Speaks
PBruce… thank you.
Not just for tonight.
For forty years.
Hebrews 13:7 says:
“Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.”
Church… that verse is not abstract tonight.
That verse has a name.
It’s Pastor Bruce & Miss Sheryl
For forty years, he spoke the Word of God in this house.
He preached it when the room was small.
He preached it when the room grew.
He preached it in seasons of joy.
He preached it in seasons of pressure.
And Scripture tells us to do something very specific:
Remember them.
Consider their life.
Imitate their faith.
PBruce, we have watched your life.
We have watched your steadiness.
We have watched your conviction.
We have watched your love for this church.
And the outcome of your life is sitting in this room tonight.
Marriages restored.
Children raised in Christ.
People saved.
Mission work launched.
Generations shaped.
You didn’t just build a church.
You built a legacy.
Pastor-Led & Trustee Transition
Pastor-Led & Trustee Transition
Now church, I need to say something important and clear.
Historically, in our church, the Senior Pastor has served as the Chair of the Trustees. That structure has always reflected something we deeply believe:
This church is pastor-led.
Not ego-led.
Not board-controlled.
Not personality-driven.
Pastor-led.
For the last three years, that structure shifted a little. And through prayer, honest conversation, and mutual discernment — PBruce and I both recognized something:
The alignment of pastor and trustee chair is important.
So tonight, I will be voted on to step into the role of Chair of the Trustees.
And PBruce and I are completely unified in that decision.
But PBruce, is not fading into the background.
You are stepping into something rare.
Tonight, you formally leave the chair of Trustee…
and step into the role of Honorary Trustee for Life.
[Pause.]
That is not symbolic fluff.
And for me personally — you are not just our founding pastor.
You are a trusted source.
A steady voice.
And I will continue to lean on that.
Church, that deserves more than polite applause.
Would you stand and honor forty years of faithful leadership?
[Standing ovation.]
Presentation of the Oil Painting
Presentation of the Oil Painting
Bruce, we wanted to give you something that represents what you’ve done here.
This photo is a small rendition of the oil painting that has been commissioned
An oil painting is different than a photograph.
A photograph captures a moment.
An oil painting captures legacy.
It carries texture.
Depth.
Layers.
And that’s what you’ve built here.
This painting will hang in the entrance of our chapel.
Every time someone walks in to pray…
To worship…
To be married…
To grieve…
To seek God…
They will pass a reminder that a couple once said yes to the call of God when this church was nothing more than vision in their hearts
This is not about putting a couple on a wall.
It’s about honoring the foundation.
It’s about Hebrews 13:7 lived out.
“Remember your leaders… consider the outcome of their life… imitate their faith.”
PBruce, thank you for staying when it would have been easier to quit.
Thank you for protecting doctrine.
Thank you for guarding holiness.
Thank you for leading with conviction and warmth.
Thank you for finishing strong.
It is one of the greatest honors of my life to steward what you planted.
[Present photo.]
Church — one more time — can we honor Pastor Bruce and Miss Sheryl.
Closing Charge
Closing Charge
Tonight, we celebrate legacy, but tomorrow we build
Mission-focused.
Gospel-centered.
The greatest way we can honor the past…
Is to steward the future with the same faith.
PBruce — thank you for planting.
Now we will build.
Closing Prayer Over Pastor Bruce & Sheryl
Closing Prayer Over Pastor Bruce & Sheryl
Let’s pray.
Father,
Tonight we say thank You.
Thank You for calling Bruce and Sheryl forty years ago.
Thank You for sustaining them.
Thank You for strengthening them.
Thank You for using them to build something that has changed lives for eternity.
Your Word tells us to remember our leaders, to consider the outcome of their life, and to imitate their faith.
Tonight we remember.
Tonight we give thanks.
Tonight we honor.
Lord, bless them in this next season.
Give them joy without burden.
Influence without pressure.
Wisdom without weight.
Rest without regret.
May they feel the fruit of their labor.
May they see spiritual sons and daughters rise.
May they know deeply that their obedience mattered.
And as we move forward as a pastor-led, mission-focused church,
help us steward well what they planted.
We give You the glory for the past.
We trust You with the future.
And we thank You for the gift of faithful leaders.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Vision Night – Introduction to the Role of Trustee
Tonight, I want to take a few minutes to talk about something that doesn’t always get the spotlight—but is absolutely vital to the health, direction, and spiritual integrity of our church: the role of our Trustees.
When our founder, Pastor Bruce established this church, he gave language to the kind of spiritual DNA we were meant to carry. He said the Trustees exist to safeguard the incorporation’s vision:
To have the conviction of holinessThe stability of the fundamentalistAnd the warmth of the charismatic
To be interdenominational in attitude, evangelistic in outreach, and Biblical in belief.
And to ensure that the mission of this church remains steadfast: To Share Christ. To Connect people. To Serve others.
That foundation matters. It shaped us. It protected us. It positioned us.
And we honor that.
But every healthy church doesn’t just preserve vision— it advances it.
As your pastor, the way I articulate our purpose is this:
We exist to restore and grow relationships with God and others.
We do that by engaging hearts with the transformative message of the gospel, assimilating individuals into the church family, and retaining relationships to expand God’s Kingdom.
That is not a departure from where we started—it’s a continuing of it.
Sharing Christ? That’s engaging hearts with the gospel. Connecting people? That’s assimilation into spiritual family. Serving others? That’s kingdom expansion through restored relationships.
So what is a Trustee?
A Trustee is not just someone who watches finances. Not just someone who votes on motions. Not just someone who attends meetings.
A Trustee is a guardian of mission. A protector of theological integrity. A steward of spiritual direction. A stabilizer in seasons of growth. A voice of wisdom when clarity is needed.
They help ensure that we never drift.
That our doctrine stays biblical. That our posture stays evangelistic. That our culture stays warm but holy. That our direction stays aligned with the Great Commission.
In a growing church—especially one with expanding influence, partnerships, and vision—Trustees serve as spiritual shock absorbers and guardrails.
They protect the house so the house can grow.
They make sure that as we restore and grow relationships, we do it with conviction, integrity, and faithfulness to Scripture.
Vision Night is about the future. But Trustees help anchor the future to biblical faithfulness.
They don’t lead the day-to-day. They don’t pastor the church. But they help ensure that what we build tomorrow still honors what God established yesterday—and remains aligned with His Word forever.
So when we vote on Trustees, we are voting on spiritual guardianship. We are voting accountability. We are voting stability. We are voting shared stewardship of what God is doing here at GCCC.
This isn’t just governance.
It’s guardianship of vision. It’s stewardship of calling. It’s protection of gospel mission.
And I am deeply grateful for the men and women who carry that responsibility with humility, prayerfulness, and strength.
The best days of this church are ahead of us. And strong, aligned Trustees help make sure we get there the right way. With that said if youre a voting member of the family and have not yet voted please go to the lobby and place your vote.
Before we talk vision let's worship together!
Celebrating What God Did in 2025
Celebrating What God Did in 2025
Church… before we talk about where we’re going —
We need to stop.
And we need to celebrate what God just did.
Because if we don’t pause to give Him glory, we’ll rush past miracles like they’re normal.
And they are not normal.
They are grace.
📈 Sunday Services
📈 Sunday Services
Last year our Sunday average was 661.
This year?
791.
That’s not just 130 more people in seats.
That’s 130 more stories.
130 more families.
130 more opportunities for the gospel to transform lives.
That’s growth of nearly 20%.
Church — that’s God.
👶 Gloucester Kids
👶 Gloucester Kids
Last year our Kids average was 60.
This year?
85.
Twenty-five more kids learning Scripture.
Twenty-five more kids worshiping.
Twenty-five more seeds planted in young hearts.
That’s a 41% increase.
That’s not childcare.
That’s kingdom formation.
🔥 Gloucester Youth
🔥 Gloucester Youth
Last year youth averaged 35.
This year?
54.
That’s over 50% growth.
In a generation that statistics say is walking away from church…
Our students are leaning in.
That matters.
🤝 Community Groups
🤝 Community Groups
Last year our Small Group participation averaged 164.
This year?
190.
That’s more people moving from rows… to circles.
More people known.
More people discipled.
More people connected.
We don’t just want attendance.
We want transformation.
And transformation happens in community.
💧 Baptisms
💧 Baptisms
Now let’s talk about something that should make heaven celebrate.
Last year we baptized 112 people.
This year?
174.
That is a 55% increase.
174 people publicly declaring Jesus as Lord.
174 people going from death to life.
From old to new.
From lost to found.
Church, that’s revival-level fruit.
💰 Revenue Received
💰 Revenue Received
And yes — finances matter, because they fuel mission.
Last year revenue received was $1,805,344.
This year?
$2,126,443.
That’s over $320,000 increase.
Not so we can sit on it.
But so we can:
Reach more people
Support more missions
Invest in the next generation
Strengthen the house
That’s not income.
That’s trust.
That’s generosity.
That’s belief in vision.
Frame It Theologically
Frame It Theologically
Psalm 115:1 says:
“Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to Your name give glory.”
Church — this isn’t about personality.
It isn’t about production.
It isn’t about branding.
It’s about God building His church.
And we are stewarding momentum.
So with all that said! Let's talk about where we are going!
🔥 Transition From 2025 Celebration to 2026 Vision
🔥 Transition From 2025 Celebration to 2026 Vision
Church…
We celebrate what God did in 2025.
But we are not a church that celebrates and coasts.
We celebrate — and then we build.
Because healthy things grow.
Alive things multiply.
And mission never sleeps.
Those numbers we just walked through?
They don’t make us comfortable.
They make us responsible.
More people are coming.
More families are leaning in.
More kids are showing up.
More students are hungry.
More people are getting baptized.
So now we ask:
What would it look like to lean into that momentum?
What would it look like to steward growth — instead of just experiencing it?
That’s where vision comes in.
And our team doesn’t set goals randomly.
We create goals based on mission.
We don’t chase numbers.
We pursue impact.
We don’t measure success by attendance.
We measure it by restored and growing relationships with God and others.
So tonight, I want to present where we believe God is calling us next.
And a huge part of that next step is something brand new — and something bold.
🥷 Ninja City Integration
🥷 Ninja City Integration
Ninja City is now officially part of GCCC.
This isn’t just a side project.
It’s not a hobby.
It’s not an add-on.
It’s a mission tool.
Ninja City is a place where kids can learn American Ninja Warrior–style skills in a safe, structured environment.
But it’s more than obstacles.
It’s opportunity.
Opportunity to build trust with families.
Opportunity to create consistent touchpoints with our community.
Opportunity to invite kids — and their parents — into church.
And it doesn’t stop there.
Ninja City will also supplement discipleship during our weekend services and Wednesday evenings.
It becomes a bridge.
A doorway.
A discipleship environment.
An outreach engine.
It helps us reach people who may never walk in because of a sermon — but will walk in because their kid is climbing a warped wall.
And when they walk in?
We love them.
We connect them.
We disciple them.
That’s strategy.
That’s intentional.
That’s mission expansion.
🚀 2026 Churchwide Goals
🚀 2026 Churchwide Goals
Now — here’s where we’re going.
🎯 900 Average Sunday Attendance
🎯 900 Average Sunday Attendance
We believe 900 is not ambitious.
It’s responsible stewardship of momentum.
But we won’t reach 900 accidentally.
We will reach it intentionally.
1️⃣ Reach More People
1️⃣ Reach More People
We are planning 8 community events this year. (Talk about community in action week) MIKEL CAN YOU SHOW PICTURES
ALSO SHOW MISSIONS PICTURES PLEASE (5-7) on a loop.
Not just events for fun.
Events with purpose.
To build relationships.
To build trust.
To create organic gospel conversations.
Outreach won’t be occasional.
It will become rhythm.
2️⃣ Increase Worship Attendance MIKEL Please add photos from our services (3-5)
2️⃣ Increase Worship Attendance MIKEL Please add photos from our services (3-5)
We’re aiming for an average of 900 in Weekend Services.
🎯 900 Average Sunday Attendance
We believe 900 is not ambitious.
It’s responsible stewardship of momentum.
But we won’t reach 900 accidentally.
We will reach it intentionally. And this starts with us.
Improved communication.
Clear invitation pathways.
Equipping every person here with tools to invite confidently.
Growth is not marketing.
It’s invitation culture.
3️⃣ Connect People in Community
3️⃣ Connect People in Community
We want to engage 30% of guests into:
Small Groups
Membership
Ministries
We will refine systems.
Improve follow-up.
Strengthen social engagement strategies.
Because rows inspire.
But circles transform.
4️⃣ Train New Leaders
4️⃣ Train New Leaders
We want 35% of Sunday attendance serving.
That means leadership development.
Mentorship.
Clear pathways.
Because a growing church without developing leaders will plateau.
We build leaders — or we limit impact.
5️⃣ Encourage Generosity
5️⃣ Encourage Generosity
We are setting a $2.25 million giving goal.
Not to accumulate.
To accelerate.
We will teach stewardship.
We will show impact.
We will communicate clearly.
Because generosity fuels mission.
🔥 Close the Section With Energy
🔥 Close the Section With Energy
Church —
900 people hearing the gospel weekly.
Kids training in Ninja City and learning Scripture.
Students leaning into discipleship.
Hundreds in groups.
Leaders rising.
Generosity fueling outreach.
That’s not expansion.
That’s multiplication.
And we are not stepping into this timidly.
We are stepping into it aligned.
Pastor-led.
Trustee-supported.
Mission-driven.
Gospel-centered.
Let’s build.
🔥 Transition Into Prayer Moment
Church…
We’ve celebrated what God did.
We’ve declared where we believe He’s leading us.
But hear me clearly:
Vision without prayer is ambition.
Goals without prayer are just spreadsheets.
Strategy without prayer is human effort.
And this church was never built on human effort.
It was built on prayer.
If Hebrews 13:7 reminded us to remember our leaders…
Then Acts reminds us the early church “devoted themselves to prayer.”
Before we chase 900.
Before Ninja City launches fully.
Before we host events.
Before we train leaders.
Before we raise $2.25 million.
We pray.
Because unless the Lord builds the house…
We labor in vain.
Tonight, the most important thing we will do is not clap.
It’s not approve.
It’s not strategize.
It’s pray.
For the next several minutes, we are going to pray through our core values.
Not casually.
Not quietly disengaged.
But intentionally.
Two minutes per value.
We are going to ask God to make these more than words on a wall.
We are going to ask Him to make them culture.
Slide 1 – We Are Passionate

Set Up (30–40 seconds before prayer begins)
Church, passion isn’t hype.
It’s conviction with endurance.
It’s people released into their calling.
It’s gifts discovered.
It’s strengths developed.
It’s risks taken for the glory of God.
We don’t want spectators.
We want Spirit-empowered people living on mission.

As they pray, you can speak softly over the room:
Lord, release gifts in this house.
Help people discover their calling.
Remove fear of failure.
Raise up courageous leaders.
Ignite holy passion in our kids and students.
Align our passions with Your plans.
(After 2 minutes, gently close that segment and move on.)

Distraction kills discipleship.

Lord, remove distraction from our church.
Guard our attention spans.
Help us be present.

Closing the Prayer Moment
Closing the Prayer Moment
After the final two minutes, bring the room back gently:
Church…
If we become these values…
The goals will take care of themselves.
If we stay passionate.
If we stay unified.
If we stay real.
If we keep dreaming and doing.
If we stay focused on the Gospel.
There is no limit to what God can do through this house.
So we don’t move forward confident in strategy.
We move forward confident in God.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen.
Church…
We’ve talked about growth.
We’ve talked about 900.
We’ve talked about Ninja City.
About leadership.
About generosity.
About unity.
But hear me clearly.
If this church is built on momentum, it will eventually shake.
If this church is built on strategy, it will eventually strain.
If this church is built on personality, it will eventually crack.
But if this church is built on Christ…
It will stand.
Jesus said in Matthew 7 that the rain will fall.
The wind will blow.
The storms will come.
The question is never if.
The question is what are you built on?
For forty years, this house has stood because it was built on Christ.
Through seasons of growth.
Through seasons of difficulty.
Through cultural shifts.
Through leadership transitions.
And as we move toward 900…
As we launch Ninja City…
As we train leaders…
As we raise up the next generation…
We are not shifting foundations.
We are building on the same Rock.
So tonight, we’re not just ending with a song.
We are making a declaration.
That Christ is our firm foundation.
That He has never failed us.
That He won’t start now.
That whatever comes in 2026 — we stand secure.
Church, let’s stand together.
Let’s sing this as a declaration over our church.
Over our families.
Over our future.
And let’s anchor this entire night where it belongs —
On Jesus.
Church…
Forty years ago, a man and his wife said yes… and built on Jesus.
Last year, 174 people went public with their faith… because this house is built on Jesus.
In 2026, kids will run through Ninja City… families will walk through these doors… leaders will rise… because this house is built on Jesus.
Storms will come.
Culture will shift.
Pressure will rise.
But Christ has never failed this church.
And He will not start now.
So don’t sing this casually.
Sing it like a declaration.
Sing it like a covenant.
Sing it like we mean it.
If your life has been changed here — sing it.
If your family has been restored here — sing it.
If you believe the best days are ahead — sing it.
Church…
Let’s declare our foundation.
