Silver Cup

We were going through some things at the house and I came across this.  We bought this cup for Stephanie over twenty years ago.  It doesn’t look very good does it?  Look good or not, it is still mine.  I can leave it like it is or I can work on it to make it shine like it is supposed to.

We are the same way as Christians.  God paid the price for us, and we are His.  Just like this cup, some of us don’t look very good inside or out.  Even if we don’t do anything we still belong to God, but God made us to shine.  The way we shine is by studying God’s Word and applying it to our lives.

In 2 Peter 3:14 the Bible says:

14 Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless,
