Introduction

Whenever a story is told it is never told at the final act. No good books start without an introduction to characters, painting out scenery and providing details as to what in the world were about to pour countless hour into just to have the satisfaction of saying we read a book this year too show off how smart we are to our friends. just don’t tell them all them books you read were Dr. Seuss books. We will keep that between me, you and the Lord, amen? But this is how in our precious King James Bible starts. We get an inside into the main character of the whole entire book, God, and we get to not only see his scenery but we get to see the main character quite literally speak it into existence. What a way to begin! So lets begin with the first verse. Genesis chapter 1 verse 1 says this, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Now 1 verse holds so much i want to stop there and ask you, Do you know there is three things proclaimed in this first verse alone? i want to give you These truths that are proclaimed.

The Moment Creation is proclaimed

Genesis starts with “In the beginning”. Now this should be pretty evident but something so obvious has caused quite the stur amongst many men and women today. The term “beginning” just refers to creation. Many men and woman alike have taken it to there grave on the backs of scientist who proclaim our earth is millions of years old and started with a big ole rock that smashed into it and somehow life was formed. My friends they really have no basis for there standing. You see science they would have you think through carbondating and fossils found that it points to an earth much older and I say on the authority of the word of God thats foolishness and the devil himself would have you believe such a lie but God hath put it right at the start that creation is here and dispells all the lies of this world that He created it and there was a beginning not how man would make it up but how God would tell his side of the story. Oh and while I’m on the topic of false teachings such as evolution many believers have come up with this “gap” theory. Now you’ll believe what you want to and we’ll all have to answer for what we believed but let me just say this. Those that fall into the gap theory try to interpret the Bible according to science but we should interpret science according to the Bible. So, I think ill just go with the fact that my KJV of the Bible is the inspired word of God and ill hold to the fact of what he said was for me to know and i don’t have to come up with some foolishness i just have to trust God for what He says.

The Master of Creation Proclaimed

When we read a little further into verse one we see the master at work we see in verse one “God created”. Not only does this point to master but His prominence. You see in the first chapter of Genesis “God” is mentioned over 30 times. Oh dear friend you see God is in the whole book but if we don’t start with God in the beginning then the first chapter becomes all messed up. Evolution tries to leave out God and that’s why evolutionist are grasping at straws and not reaching for the truth. Also, in looking at the master of creation proclaimed we will come to see his priority in creation. You see everything begins with God. You want your work life to get better? Begin with God. How about your Marriage? Begin with God. Prayer life wants to get better. Begins with God. When we dont begin with God and try to have mans way in our decisions and lifestyles then we will undoubtibly make a mess of things really really fast. John 1:1-3“1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” Acts 14:15 “15 And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:” You see without God in the beginning we have no hope for the end. The world would have you believe that your priority should be on ourselves, what we have going on and what I wanna do but God starts at the beginning and he is the alpha and omega the beginning and the end, the first and the last. And if we will just stop and focus our priority on God things would move in a drastic direction. We will serve God better, we must the one that was the priority in the beginning first. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: Fear the Lord, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, And marrow to thy bones.” Proverbs 3:5-8. He is the priority.

The Might for Creation Proclaimed

So we seen the beginning we’ve seen the master in creation or the mastermind but what about a powerful God we serve. It says here, “God created”. Evolution debunked right there. That verse doesn’t say life created it self, nor does that verse say the greek gods created, that verse doesn’t say Joseph Smith created. NO! that verse says “God created” and that word created isn’t just how we make something no that word created literal implies “being brought into existence without any pre-existing material”. God literal made everything from nothing. There was no seed to plant a flowers in the garden or trees, no spring to seep forth rivers and oceans, no underwater volcanoes to form islands. No the God of heaven came and spoke and it was so. That’s the God we serve! And if you were to read on it points more to the power of God with words like “moved” in verse 2; “divided” in verse 4; “made” in verse 7, 16, 25 and 31; and “set” in 17. What an all powerful God we serve. Colossians 1:16 “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:”. God is Mighty isn’t He?

Conclusion

So much in the First verse of our beloved Word of God. We got to see how the story began, or just a glimpse rather but it began with God in a moment and we saw his prominence and the priority of Him and how powerful He is. What a great beginning… but might i say this, there is an end. And much like there was a beginning of creation this physical life has an end. These bodies we have wether away and grow old. I told someone this week that time stops for no man. And just like them ill tell you the same you never know when your time stops ticking. And the same God that made this universe desires to save you from sin. Just as He has had the power to create life on earth He died on a cross shed his blood for you and now offers you forgivness from the sin that seperates us from him. If you dont know were you’d spend eternity today Let the powerful creator create in you a new life and pass from death unto life.
