Confession
Confession
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

—> Confession is a doorway to freedom.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
The Wesleyan Bible Commentary, Volume 6: Hebrews–Revelation e. Confession Brings Forgiveness and Cleansing (1:9)
Anyone making claim to this great blessing of entire sanctification should heed the following instructions:
(1) Let the Holy Spirit and God’s Word daily search your heart to guard against the return of evil.
(2) Heed carefully any observations made by others of your actions and reactions in order to improve the life of holiness.
(3) Give testimony of your victory only under the Spirit’s guidance, in the greatest of humility and only with some good in view.
(4) Recognize that many others may be experiencing the same depth of pure love under differing terms of expression.
