There are places God is taking each one of us, paths for our lives that allow our stories to fit into His story.
We can plan, we can hope for and we can believe for but I was reminded that
We can’t rely on our own insight or understanding.
Sometimes in that upward climb we can come across some terrain that we are not familiar with.
Loss of a job, your finances are suddenly missing or diminished.
Loss of your health, or even the loss of life of a loved one.
Changes you did not anticipate.
The terrain of life is just steeper at times.
Sometimes there is an enemy trying to get you to believe God has somehow abandoned you, or is not hearing you. Telling you its your fault or just telling you you cant do it, even though God has said you can.
So we usually come back to battle these thoughts in our minds where we have been told the battlefield is.
We try to cast down the thoughts, we try to tell our flesh not to fall for the feelings the enemy has bombarded us with.
2 Corinthians 10:4–5 NKJV
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
I believe we have to pull down these strongholds and bring them into the obedience of Christ.
but what if the battlefield wasn't really in the mind but in the very heart of our spiritual lives.
Proverbs 4:20–23 NKJV
My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.
Psalm 18:33 NKJV
He makes my feet like the feet of deer, And sets me on my high places.
As I was studying for today, my heart just began to leap at the thought of this deer no pun intended.
If you watch them they have such grace, agility and beauty as they walk up the height of the rocky terrain.
They escape from danger by going higher its instinct, its inside of their nature, there is something that is is woven into them.
They dont second guess what they should do, they begin to climb the most steep terrain with out slipping.
They were equipped to climb, their back legs give them power to climb the rocky terrain, to run, to jump.
As they go up this tiny trail on these steep mountains they climb these impossible trails by putting their back feet into the exact same spot as the front legs had just been making them sure footed.
In the middle of our most challenging parts of life look at what Habakkuk says.
Habakkuk 3:17–19 NKJV
Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls— Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills…
Im here today to tell you that God has placed His strength in you, His word is our strength, it keeps our heart during this life, it prepares us for the heights of this Life God is taking us to. He wants you and I to be sure footed.
Psalm 119:28 NKJV
My soul melts from heaviness; Strengthen me according to Your word.
Isaiah 41:10 ESV
fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
God is calling us to a new dimension in our spiritual walk with Him just as the deer uses its powerful hind legs to pull itself up the heights. God want you to use the word of God to pull yourself up this new height He is taking you to and to be sure footed in this new height.
