Greetings…
6 But as it is, Christ has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises.
Promised Salvation
Promised Salvation
Offered To Everyone
Offered To Everyone
God promised to offer salvation to all people.
31 “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, 32 not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the Lord.
33 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”
God has offered salvation to all people.
God wants everyone to be saved.
3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
23 Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?
This is why God has offered salvation to all who will take hold of it.
11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people
God promised and delivered on offering everyone the opportunity to be saved.
God has promised salvation to all who to take hold of the free gift of grace by promising the…
Forgiveness Of Sins
Forgiveness Of Sins
Because sin destroys the soul of man the only pathway toward salvation was for the that sin to be removed.
This is why God promised that he could and would forgive us from our sins.
4 Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
The blood of Christ is the fulfillment of that promise to remove our sins and save our souls.
5 and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood
7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace
9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
God promised and provided for us a pathway to salvation through his son’s shed blood.
That promise of forgiveness of our sins is what makes possible God’s promise of…
Eternal Life
Eternal Life
For those that follow God’s pathway to salvation, accept God’s plan of salvation, and have their sins forgiven, God promised those who do so will have eternal life.
At our salvation we are sealed with that promised.
11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.
13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.
7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
This is why we can confidently say “we know we have eternal life.”
13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.
At our judgment that promise if fulfilled.
46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.
12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
Summary
Summary
Standing on the promises of God allows those that have heard the promise of salvation to take hold God’s love and the free gift offered and to know they have eternal life.
But that doesn’t mean this life is easy, in fact Jesus promises just the opposite because we are in a spiritual war here on earth for our soul (Matthew 5:10-12; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5).
That is why we also read about God’s…
Promised Presence
Promised Presence
God’s Faithfulness
God’s Faithfulness
God has promised that he can be trusted.
9 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations
22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; 23 they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
9 God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
24 He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.
23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.
God has promised that he can be trusted to be present in our lives.
20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
5 Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
God’s faithfulness and promise to be present is good to see, but in what ways has God promised to be present on our lives today?
We find this in promises concerning…
God’s Security
God’s Security
God has promised to keep us secure against a lack of provisions we need in this life.
God promises to provide for our physical needs.
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
God promises to provide us peace.
27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
God promises to provide us comfort.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
God promises to provide us strength.
13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,
God promises to provide us help in times of trouble.
14 Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and perform your vows to the Most High, 15 and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.”
7 The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.
16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
God has promised us security against our enemies.
God promises to help us fight against Satan and his ministers.
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.
4 Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
God promises to help us fight against our fleshly desires.
13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
18 For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
9 then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment
Summary
Summary
God is fully aware that as finite beings we need certain provisions to survive in this life and make it to the next with him.
Therefore, God has promised to give us the security we need to make it through this life and to be able to prepare for the next.

Standing On The Promises
Standing on the promises that cannot fail. When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail, by the living word of God I shall prevail, standing on the promises of God.
If we are standing on the promises of God, brothers and sisters, ladies and gentlemen, we cannot fail.
It doesn’t matter what this life throws our way, God has promised us salvation and to be present all the days of our life and because of those promises we cannot fail.
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Invitation
1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; 2 but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.
6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.
17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
30 The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent
33 So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.
32 Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.
8 in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
1 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures
3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
