Bible Passage: Genesis 1:26, Psalm 100:3, Psalm 139:13–14, Jeremiah 1:5, Ephesians 2:10
1. Created in God's Image
1. Created in God's Image
25 And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
That God created us in his image after his likeness.
2. Crafted by Our Creator
2. Crafted by Our Creator
3 Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
This chapter in psalms was a song or hytm to praise God
That we are his, that we are a child of God that he is with us and for us.
That we are the sheep of his pasture and that he watches over us.
3 So he told them this parable:
4 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it?
5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’
7 Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
3. Known Intimately by God
3. Known Intimately by God
13 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
The God knows us so well, that he knows more than anyone else.
He knows what you are going through and the things that you are struggling with.
I lot of times we look for our worth in things of the world.
Wheather it is people liking our posts, sending us a text or messaging us back, or maybe we look for comformation in another person.
What is so cool is that God knowns us so intimatley and he cares. He wants us to come to him with our emotions or things going on in our lives because he wants to hear from us!
4. Called from the Beginning
4. Called from the Beginning
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
6 Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.”
7 But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.
God was talking to Jeremiah here.
That before he was even formed in the womb that he knew him
He says that he was consecrated which means to be set apart.
That he was going to be a prophet of nations
God has called us to be set Part from this world, for when we are in a relationship with God he calls us to be different.
Jeremiah had an excuse, that he was too young. but the Lord told him that he will guide him with what to say and how to do things.
You guys have power and influence no matter what age you are.
You might have friends that look up to you or even younger sibilings.
God calls us to live a different life and that he will guide us.
5. Purposeful in Christ
5. Purposeful in Christ
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
That God has givin us gifts and talents that we can use as an oppertunity to share the gospel.
Whether that is through dance or video games or sports or through artwork.
God wants us to use our talents and gifts for his purpose.
Talk about soccer and being used to teach VBS
That our true identity and who we are can be found in God and who he has created us to be.
MAybe you dont know what your purpose is. in
15 And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.
That Gods has called us to share with others the Good news, that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. That he created us in his image.
